This relates to a statement about water taste at the Poly I just read on another thread. we noticed during our stay at the GF in April that the water didn't have that "YUCK" taste that we have experiencd at the other deluxes, ie. CR,WL,YC & Poly. Do they filter it or something? I actually was able to drink it from the tap to take my morning meds without gagging. :)

The GF water gagged us back in September. Maybe they have added a filter! Gosh, I just hate WDW water!!!!!

I know, I absolutely refuse to drink tap while there. We had brought a 12 pack of Dasani and had the fridge brought up. I had been mixig one of the Crystal Light packets with my Dasani to take meds when DH actually drank some from the tap to take some Tylenol. He's worse than me about the tap water taste, he was the one that remarked that it wasn't bad. We were in Boca Chica, maybe some buildings are better than others?

Is the water really that bad? I am used to drinking tap water, and didn't think about buying water while we're on vacation.

I believe all WDW water is the same...it is not as if there are different wells at each resort much less for each building.

It tastes very different from our water at home. But I always become acclimated to it quickly. :sunny:

Happy Gal - I don't know what it is, but the water at WDW is disgusting - and I can usually adjust to anything, but not that water! We are getting picked up by Tiffany Towncar, and I have scheduled a grocery stop, just so we can pick up a 24pk. of water! And that's just for our room. We buy bottled water at the parks, too.

We also bought the brita water filter sport bottles for our last trip. It was a great suggestion found here on the DIS! :flower:

Just a heads up, don't drink the water from the fountains at the MK. It really is disgusting. I have heard a lot of good things about the Brita bottles but I'm too lazy to carry one more thing than I really need. I'll just cough up the $2 for a bottle of Dasani in the parks but I do try to remember to brong some bottled water for the room/ pool.

Building codes in the Orlando area say that any new construction or improvements involving water systems must have a water filter. I know that the water at CB tasted much better to me after the remodeling than it did before. You will notice this in some restaurants. Some have filtered water that is not bad, other still have the really bad water. That doesn't mean that it tastes wonderful, but the filtered water in my home isn't really bad.

Never drink from the water fountains anywhere. The water isnt only gross but its also very warm. My mom got mad when i spat it out.

The GF has gagged us for 4 years in a row now, in 3 different buildings.

The only way it's drinkable is if you're dying of thirst or if it's ice cold. So it might not be as bad in a restaurant when it's filled with ice.

The only decent water fountain in MK is under the train station. For some reason the water in that fountain is actually cold and drinkable.
