Tanya & Dan's VR DCL!!!Dec 4, 2009 MK & Epcot Photoshoot Pics Posted

Thanks everyone for all your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. They mean a lot.

We had her funeral yesterday, and that did bring me a little closure, so I am feeling better. I decided to devote myself to packing today to keep me busy and keep my mind off of it.

But I did want to share some pics of my Grandmother and a few from her wedding in the mid 1940's!

This was the day Mackenzie was born:

A collage I put together for her funeral:

I look a lot like her!

Here are her wedding shots I have.

This last one is them getting their license and leaving for the honeymoon! I love it.

She still has her wedding dress. I suppose it's mine now. It is coming apart at the seams, but still in decent shape. I wonder if I can make something with it. I hate to cut it up. It was made by my Great Grandmother.

There has been a lot of fighting in my family since my grandmother died. My family is all about DRAMA! They drive me nuts. Anyway, to try to calm everyone down, I ended up making all the floral arraingements for the service. I ordered the flowers wholesale, and I am really proud of the way they turned out.

This is my family and my beloved Aunt Melanie! She lives in Brighton, England and I love her sooooo much!!! I wish she could be here for my VR, but she's going back home next week. I keep threatening to move to England with her.

Tying all my loose ends together...

I finally finished my charms for my bouquet. I did one for my grandmother and one for my son. I made another one into a necklace for my aunt.

This is my grandmother's ring I got yesterday. She wore it everyday that I can remember. I had to put a ring guard on it to be able to wear it. I'm excited to wear it for the VR b/c it makes me feel closer to her.

Here are my FE exchange gifts. I hit up the dollar store today and got enough dry erase boards for each cabin, plus some silly stuff to split up and give to each person depending on age. There's crayons, word searches, mini frisbees, sticker books, toys, and more.

One with my "hairy kid" in the shot. He's Nathan, my wienie dog.

I also started packing big time today! All my clothes plus the kids' clothes are packed up. (Minus my dress. Still waiting on one more fitting.) Half of Dan's clothes are packed. My toasting glasses, jewelry, shoes, tiara, silk flowers, cake topper, and more are all packed up.

The problem I'm having is that we no longer have the van, and we only have a little Neon. I don't know how I am going to get it all in the car! I'm working on it though.

I am finishing the bases of the topiaries and I also wrote out my vows:

I never thought that it would be possible for me to love you more than I did on the day we married,
but I do love you more and more with each passing day.
I love you for the ways you care for me and honor me.
You have taught me kindness, selflessness, and passion.
For this and for your undying love,
I am truly grateful.

We have experienced so much together in our past 10 yrs.
We have gone through great happiness and trying times.
You have picked me up when I was down,
and held me when no one else has.
You have cooked for me,
and laughed with me,
and cried with me,
and grieved the loss of our son with me.
We've also celebrated the births of our children
And the joys of parenthood.

However, we have always supported each other,
and as a result, our bonds of love have only grown stronger.
I pledge my undying support to you through the best and worst,
through sickness and health,
through the difficult and the easy -
Whatever may come.
Know that I will always be there for you through all the changes of our lives.

Times and circumstances will continue to change us. Yet you will always be handsome in my eyes. For love is the gift of understanding and acceptance.
I make my home in your heart -
Now and always.
I promise you my love and loyalty from this day forward
and for an eternity.

I will celebrate this union each and every day,
And I will cherish our friendship,
as I love you today, tomorrow, and forever.

I give you my heart to keep.

I love you!

You are going to make me cry!! Your grandmother was a beautiful woman...don't you love looking at the old photos! I know what you mean about families fighting at the funeral, or over the death of someone. I think your flowers are unbelievable, and probably the best tribute you could give her!!!

Tanya, thank you for sharing the pictures of your Grandmother with us. She was a beautiful woman, and I agree that you do look a LOT like her.

The flowers you made were gorgeous. You have so much creative talent! I wish I had some of that.

I'm glad that you have your Grandmother's ring. I know that is something you will treasure, and I'm glad that you'll have it to wear for the ceremony.

It's awesome as to how much you've been able to get done! I'm sure that it makes you feel better.

Such wonderful pictures of your grandmother. You do look alot like her -- especially the top middle photo in the collage you made!

Your vows are beautiful.

I am going to echo what others have said. Your grandmother was beautiful and you do look just like her! I am so glad that you will be able to wear her ring...I have a bracelet that was my grandmothers that I cherish that I will be wearing at our first wedding. The flowers you did are amazing! I also agree...stowe away in the aunts luggage back to England!
I also love the charms that you made. Can you PM where you found them? (if you post here I'll just loose it when I go to look for it...)
I also love the vows that you wrote!
You've been busy that is for certain!

Tanya,

I am so sorry about your grandmother... my prayers and thoughts go to you and your family. Its never easy no matter how much you were expecting it. The pictures of her are lovely and its great that you have those to remember her by. You DO look ALOT like her! Just know that she'll be there in spirit at your VR.

Hugs!!!!!

tanya! im bawling here lady! your vows are beautiful...the arrangements you made were beautiful too. and yes you do look like your grandmother(i look like mine too!)

and family drama- i know all about that. im glad you feel as if you got a bit of closure.

just remember she will be watching down on you guys in a few weeks...and looking after your very loved first born.

what a beautiful tribute to your grandmother! I'm going to be a basketcase when my grandma dies...we are so close.

love the lockets and the FE gifts! Great.

Have you thought about renting a van for the weekend? I know it would kind of suck but atleast you know you would have all the room you need.

My grandma lived next door to me most of my life, so it has been difficult. I am finding it easier as time goes on and I am remembering more of the good times we had together.

About the space-i don't want to rent a van b/c it will just sit in the parking lot! I feel like it is a waste of money. I will just pack carefully. I hope! :rotfl:

So - a few updates. My hair was done last week. Cut and highlighted to match my hair extension. My DH and DS got their hair cuts today and look very handsome! I'm really excited about that b/c we usually cut their hair at home.

My dress still isn't ready yet. I'm getting nervous but totally trust this bridal shop.

I finished my floral arraingements. I'll have to take a few pics before I pack them up.

But for now, I'll leave you with a ton of pics from my birthday trip to DHS!
We started at the Poly-

Me waiting for my wedding couple to show up for pics at 8am. I am never up that early, plus we had a 2 hr drive and they didn't show. Boo!
But at least we had loads of fun.
Since we had the tripod -

It's really hard to take pictures of yourself when you're not looking through the camera! But I still think we got some nice shots.

So then we went outside and the funniest things were these ducks! They started off in the little streams -
Hollywoodstudios037.jpg

But then they decided the large pool looked much more inviting! :lmao:
Here they are testing the waters and getting in -
Hollywoodstudios050.jpg

Ahh, there's nothing better than relaxing at the large pool at a deluxe resort:
Hollywoodstudios044.jpg

More of their friends came to join - now we have a pool party goin' on!
Hollywoodstudios047.jpg

Watch out ducks - there's no lifeguard on duty! :rotfl:
Hollywoodstudios052.jpg

All I have to say is that I hope they clean that pool really well every day!

Here we are outside:

I love these bridge pics!

It was a really blah day for FL. It was overcast and gray, so I'm glad these pics look at good as they do. This one was my fav and I made a movie poster out of it.

Then we ate breakfast. I got to try Tonga toast for the 1st time and loved it! DH thought it tasted like bad cinnamon toast and wouldn't touch it. They also had the infamous Dole whip there, and I really wanted to try it, but sugar, bread, and bananas were enough for my diabetic self. I didn't need to go into a coma!

Then we took this shot on the way out-
My boat!!! (Only a little smaller.)

Two hours later, and still no bride - so off to have some fun!
Bye Poly!
