Your VR title caught my eye and then I kept reading and saw the drunk driver bit, so I skipped to the end... I'm so sorry to hear about your accident.

Job hazard here, I just can't not comment ... make sure you replace your carseats with new ones, they should *never* be used after a collision. I teach parents how to install/use their seats correctly and help them pick the best seat for their needs, so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Now... off to read the rest of your pj for the happy parts.

I am so sorry!!!! I am glad you and your family ok. My 20 year old neighbor was killed by a drunk driver. It's disgusting that people still drive drunk. I am glad everything turned out ok for you all.

Anyways, your family is in my prayers girl, rest up and feel better. I know its overwhelming, but just remember to relax a bit and enjoy the fact that your family is still together. Your a survivor, you will make it through and life will be normal again, it just may take a bit. hang in there

Oh my god. What an absolute nightmare. I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through. I know this is absolutely horrible for you, and I am sure everyone is saying this to you, but thank god no one was hurt.

I'll be thinking of you guys and I hope everything gets straightened out soon so you can get back to the fun things in life. Again, I am so happy no one got hurt. That's the most important thing.

Slowly we are getting things in order. We are all starting to feel better!

I just read your entire PJ and enjoyed it so much! You have so many wonderful ideas and your children are just beautiful!!!

That being said, I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother.

Then I read about your accident!!! That is horrible! I'm so glad that you are OK. I feel so badly for you because everything is happening all at one time. Things will only get better from here, I'm sure.

Tanya-I just wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about you. I am so sorry that all of this is happening to you. I am so glad that you made it out of the wreck okay. I just don't understand why people do the things they do sometimes. My husband and I got side swiped by a drunk driver one night. She was so wasted that she never even knew that she hit us. Once the cops finally chased her down and got her to pull over, they had to pretty much bust her window out to get her out of the car. So sad. And most of these people get off scott-free. I sure hope that the driver that hit you pays for what he did. But like everyone else has said, the most important part is that you and the rest of your family are all okay.

OMG! This is awful. It is really similar to what happened to us. This guy already had his license suspended. They should not let people like that even get near a car again!

He got arrested the night of the accident. The cops took him away from the hospital!! He had just minor cuts and scrapes - go figure. But he has 8 charges against him, so I hope he stays in jail forever!!

Oh no! How horrible. I hope you're feeling better soon and that insurance works quickly to take care of your car/camera/etc.

The insurance has been a nightmare! But we have a lawyer now working for us to help us sort it all out.

Thanks for the compliments! I know about the car seats too. They really kept my kids safe, but you can see the damage on them. The headrest on one is completely broken off. We are lucky enough that we have another set of car seats in our Neon.

That's awful Toni! We are soooo fortunate. If we had been driving anything other than our van, I think we would have been killed too!
This guy was awful. He had beer cans all over the floor of the car - so this is something he did all the time!

We were all wide awake. We were on our way to the beach, so the kids were really excited! We had their little fishing poles in the back. The kids are ok - all healed up, but still having some bad dreams. I think my DD is young enough that she will eventually forget it, but my son is well aware of everything. He keeps telling everyone that a bad man crashed his van!

I could only dream!! Maybe I could change to a Wishes vr! LOL! Really, we are suing him, but not b/c we will ever see any money - it is just to make his life miserable. Plus we want to be able to keep him from getting a license back. We have a lawyer dealing with the insurance companies - the car was his girlfriend's and had coverage for her, but not for him. So since she didn't report the car stolen, my insurance company and the lawyers state that her insurance co. is responsible. Thus starts the legal battle!!! I hope that it is settled out of court and that they can just reimburse us for what we've lost!

Things are slowly returning to normal. I am feeling better. I have also ordered a Nikon D90. I am hoping to be able to order a D3 or D3x soon. It depends on the lawyer and the settlement.

I have also ordered new glasses. It was really weird b/c I wear mine everyday, so to have to replace them was like changing a big part of my personality! I was so upset to lose my black glasses. But I did pick out a really cool pair and now I can't wait for them to get here. I also ordered contacts for the first time ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Usually, when I get dressed up, I just take my glasses off and walk around blindly. But now, I'll be able to see my DH for our VR!!! I am very excited.

We've started to look at vans. We are going to get another Dodge Caravan, since we loved our other one so much, and it really kept us safe. We hit at around 55mph and the front end got smashed, but all the safety features kept the engine from going into us in the front. The impact was so hard, that it blew all 4 tires off the rims. Also, all the glass cracked but never broke and shattered all over us. The van was heavy enough that all three times we started to flip and roll, it corrected itself. When I look at the pictures from the accident, I think that the van doesn't look that bad. We were very lucky!!

If you look you can see our mickey ears! He hung on to that antenna all through the accident. Our other car has minnie ears! I had to go back to the junk yard to get that off and to get the stuff out of the glove box.

I'm so sorry to hear about your camera and laptop. That really sucks! That's awesome that you are getting a D90 though. You will have to let me know how it is, especially the HD video function. Fingers crossed that you can get a D3 soon!
