Quick questions - is the lamb in the Shawarma Platter real lamb, or like the lamb in gyro?

I am curious what you think gyros are since apparently you don't think they're "real lamb"?

Gyro meat is lamb that has been roasted over a spit and shaved thinly. I believe technically in shawarma the meat is shaved first, then roasted.

Gyros is more like lamb meatloaf rather than regular slices of lamb. Around here, the gyros is roasted on a spit and shaved off for serving. I used to like it at Tangeriene Cafe, but they served me cold gyros on my last trip a few months ago, which lost all appeal.

I think the term "lamb meatloaf" is pretty close. It's sort of processed lamb meat with seasonings roasting on a spit at Tangerine Cafe. It's really yummy.

Also, the "lamb meatloaf" often has a mix of lamb and beef. Not sure if the one in Epcot does or not but the ones you get when ordering a gyro often are.

LOL! I asked the same question before our trip in February. It is just like the Gyro and very tatsy. I got the Chicken and Lamb platter and next time, I will just get the lamb minus the CousCous and extra Tabuleh. YUM!

I agree with the person that said the Gyros are a mixture of beef and lamb ground, pressed, then sliced. It's how I've always had it. I don't like lamb any other way.

Yikes, I have to say that, cold or tepid food has to be my one problem w/ CS food. It does ruin all appeal. I use to settle but now if it's cold and meant to hot, I give it back and ask for it to be hot. Cold burgers are disgusting.

Tangerine Cafe is my favorite CS, I love the Schwarma platter but I'm not a fan of Gyro meat in general so I get the chicken platter. It's humongous! I also love the Falafel platter.

We didn't like tangerine - everything was served cold (chilled) - was expecting the meat to be warm like a kebab in the UK.

Tangierine Cafe is our favorite CS in Epcot. My DH insists on eating there for his first lunch of every trip. We :lovestruc the Shawarma Platter.
