Hi all-
I just sold my T2i kit 18-55mm lens and purchased a Tamron 17-50 2.8. I read about this on Tom's site and he says it is an amazing replacement lens. Does any one have advice on using this lens? Or have photo examples? Thanks.

the Tamron 17-50 2.8 is a good upgrade from the kit lens, little sharper, larger aperture, better build, etc. but without IS (if you got that version).
For really low light stuff you will probably want an f1.4 or f1.8 lens but the Tamron works fine for many situations.

If its the same build as the K-mount then I can put in my opinion as well. Very versatile lens, however I found my copy to lack that spark, maybe its the contrast or the situations I've used it in. But at the price point theres nothing that compares to it for Pentax. I have no regrets with buying it but don't use it as often as my Primes. My last trip to Disney I carried it nearly every day, realized I never mounted it once and left it in the room on our last park day!
