Tamper Airport ???

Has anyone flown into Tamper airport, we were thinking of doing a few days on the coast anyway, I know people normally do orlando & then the coast, but it's nice to be different lol, if we fly direct via BA on 16th August cost £841 each including 2 weeks car hire.

Virgin for the next day was £827 each, then £346 for car hire, not sure if cdw is included in that, DH got price.

I believe it is only about 90 mins from orlando and flight back it 18.45, so can do a slow drive over to Tamper on day of departure.

Any disadvantages you can think of.

Used Tampa August 2009 and using it again in Feb. It took us exactly 1 hour from leaving the airport to arriving at Disney's Old Key West.

What date you wanting to return? and what size car?
Possibly cheaper elsewhere for both flights and car rental, adding car to flights is rarely a good option.

Just read again and saw it was 2 weeks. Cheapest I can see on BA site with car is £1762.00
Netflights.com £1,457.62 + car from £225 fully inclusive = £1,682 not much saving but a little.

Expedia.com would save you a few more £'s. $1100pp, use a fee free credit card with todays rate of $1.55 and you will pay £709pp
