Tampa airport?

I am considering changing my flight for our August trip and flying into the Tampa airport since the prices are better. However, then we have the problem of getting to Disney! We need a minivan (4 kids), and prices seem very high and eat up the air savings (we are booked on Magical Express right now).

By looking around I found a limo service that says on their website that they will go roundtrip from Tampa to Disney hotels for $150 - Magic Touch Transportation at limotampa.com. I am a little leary of booking a limo that I know nothing about, but the price seems really good and would save us about $200 overall.

Does anyone have any experience with this company, or with other limo services from Tampa? Or some tips about bargain car rentals from Tampa?

Thanks so much!

Nope, never heard of them. They must be pretty new. To date, I haven't heard of any shuttle/towncar services between Tampa and WDW....but I wouldn't be surprised if they start springing up. There's a fair amount of business between the two areas.
A towncar from MCO to WDW will run about $100 plus tip. So, if a towncar service will get you to and from Tampa Intl and WDW for $150 that's a good deal.
Perhaps someone in the Tampa area will have heard of them.

How much are you saving by flying into Tampa? Are you flying out of Orlando? I am flying into tampa - doing some family visiting before heading out to disney and then flying out of orlando - the prices for rental cars keep going up out of Tampa - but dropping out of Orlando.

What you save by flying may not be worth it.

You could always hotwire/priceline if your flying in and out of the same airport -- Right now I am using the corp code for thrifty - the small car (only 3 of us) is a base price of 120$ a week - free second driver, unlimited mileage- with my drop off in orlando. I always use thrifty - I am a happy customer.

We just flew into TPA (6/22-6/30) for our WDW trip. We rented a Toyota Highlander from Alamo for $175 for the entire trip. We had another family with us and they tried to talk us into renting the Sienna but we said no. We have had good luck with renting from Alamo and doing it on their webpage. Remember that you can cancel a rental reservation at anytime without a penalty. Check with www.mousesavers.com for some rental codes which may help you get the cost of the rental car down.

You could also look at doing a one day rental to get you from Tampa to WDW with a drop-off at the Car Care Center (Alamo) or one of the DTD hotels (various companies). You can do the same for your trip back to Tampa as well.
