Tame Mission: Space for older people??

We will be in Epcot January 21st. We both like to do many of the rides, and are used to things like this. I am certain that the regular Mission:Space would just be too strong for us.

What about the Tame version? I am 53 years old, with no known serious medical problems.

My DH is 77, also with no known serious medical problems.

We both enjoy rides like ToT, SM, BTMR, and have no problem at all with these. We both also enjoy
para-sailing above the lake. We are both dare-devil kind of people, but we don't do rides that spin around. ( You would NEVER catch us on the Tea Cups. LOL )

So how do you think the Tame version of Mission: Space would be for us?

Thanks In Advance!

I am 62, Claudia ( Claudia) and I enjoyed the green very much. Orange was a bit much for me the year it opened. Enjoy.

Will I see you this year??

Both of you will enjoy the green (less intense) version of Mission Space as far as the ride goes. Same video as the intense version but no spin. I've done both versions several times with no problem but always recommend the less intense version when guests are unsure.

The only thing you would have to be concerned about (on the green version) is if you didn't enjoy being in an enclosed space or a simulator type ride. Once you're in the capsule you won't be able to get out until it's over.

Best wishes.

Thank You for your answers!

Hi Dan ! Good to hear from you. I am not doing my usual early December trip this time. Together,
DH and I will arrive at WDW on January 21st.
He will only be staying for a day and a half, and I will continue on my solo trip for another 4 nights. We will be doing Epcot together.
We will be staying at BWV.

So when will YOU be at WDW?

I am wondering if the "green" version has the same height restriction, we are taking our two DD's 5 & 9 and our 5 year isn't quite tall enough the ride Mission:Space?

-Thanks
Mark

The height restrictions remain the same whether you ride the green or orange version.

Get a rider switch ticket so one of you can remain with your DD and then ride afterwards. There is plenty to keep her busy in the post show area at the exit of the ride while waiting for the others.

Enjoy.

You will enjoy the green version (less intense), after riding that, you just may want to try the orange, I'm 59 and always ride the orange, but when the green version came out, I had to try it, didn't want to miss anything. LOL.... Have a good ride :thumbsup2

I rode both versions on our last trip (just a week ago), and I'd say the best comparison is if you can ride Star Tours OK, then you'll be fine as long as you're not claustrophobic. As someone else said, if you can ride simulators OK, you'll be fine. Simulators make some (including my mother) sick! I was pre-riding it to see if my mother would be able to ride it with us on an upcoming trip, but decided that the answer is no for her.

My 4 yr old son rode it the other week and hes around 44". The first time he was apprehensive about the whole thing, even after the CM described it to him. Once he realized it was nothing, he wanted to ride it again and again. Only problem he couldnt quite reach the buttons so I pushed them for him. I wouldnt put him on the orange version, nor did I want to risk ruining my day at Epcot by riding it, but I am curious about it! The green version is similar, maybe even smoother than Star Tours if youve ridden that. However, if you dont like closed quarters, then skip it. There is a pull down harness (like on upside down rollercoasters) and then the panel tilts forward into your lap.

SPOILER COMING******You watch a small screen (if you get disoriented just look away from it) and the ride tilts you up, down, and to the sides simulating blast off, swerving asteroids, and a crash landing.
