Just wondering if anyone has gotten drinks to go from the Tambu Lounge at the Poly. It would be nice to take down to the beach to watch the Electrical Parade.

We have gotten drinks to go from Tambu lounge many times. Depending on the time and season, the bar next to the pool/beach area may be open too, though their selections are somewhat limited.

you could go to the sundry shop and get beer or wine to go and take that to watch the parade, thats what we did. Probably less expensive to!

As chamonix said, yes, you can get the drinks to go. We have done this and taken them to the beach for the fireworks and even back to our room.
We prefer the drinks at the Tambu Lounge over the pool bar. They seem to be better made. Although Rosie at the Pool bar does make a very good drink.

Do they make the Lapu Lapu (Is that how it's spelled?) at the pool bar?

They can make a Lapu Lapu at the pool bar, but they do not have the hollowed-out pinapples to put them in. You have to get a plastic cup, (NOT THE SAME!)

I prefer the Tambu lounge drinks too, camcolt.

As for the Lapu lapu problem, lol, I go to the lounge to get one in the pineapple, then order the next drink at the pool bar and refill my pineapple that way. One of the bartenders (at Tambu) told me they are really "mai-tai's" and to order those instead--they're cheaper without the pineapple. So, get one pineapple, then refill with mai-tais.

In fact, this is one of the reasons I dislike the pool bar. I have had rude bartenders several times, really poor service, and they sent me up to the lounge for lapu lapus--instead of just telling me that they could make a maitai without the pineapple! I would not assume you can get a maitai there, I would check with the bartender.

I hope I get to meet the famous rosie next time, because the other bartenders have all sucked. :(

Oh, and dh has bought single beers from the store on the second floor to take back to the room. There is also wine, and champagne, and bottles of liquor (you would have to mix your own drinks though), and perhaps purchase glasses for those....?

Thanks for the info. I'm planning to be there tomorrow night!!!!!:teeth:

I've heard alot about the Lapu Lapu. Is it available anywhere else besides the Poly? Would love to have one sitting at the pool at CSR. :sunny: :drinking1
