Is there typically quite a crowd around this show? Do we want to be there in advnace? Is there any seating nearby where we could sit and watch the show while having a snack?

Many folks stop and watch but it is not something you need to gather and wait for. Lots of folks stop for a few minutes and then move on.
There is no seating area for this show
