Hi All. What, and when do you tip for a one week, 2 bedroom stay at the Grand Floridian Villas? I believe they come in on day 4 just for trash, and towel replacement, and then not again until we check out on our 7th day. Do I have that correct? I always worry that my tip won't get to the right person, or that it is not enough. Do they do a complete replacement of towels? Do they replace dish washer, and laundry soap at that 4 day mark?
Wondering what you all feel is a fair tip.

We don't routinely, we only tip for maids who are in a tipped position or who do something extra for us. Housekeeping at Disney are not in a tipped position.

We don't tip either unless they do something extra. As Dean posted, housekeepers at WDW, Disney, and their union have agreed that housekeeping is a non-tipped position.

We don't tip for trash and towel service, but do leave a tip when we leave. For a 1 bedroom, I usually leave $20. (If we request something, I tip for that when the item is delivered).

I don't worry about the tip going to the correct person. IMO, the person who cleans up after us is the one I want to thank We just leave the cash on a counter with a thank you note addressed to the housekeeper (so that they know it was intended for them).

We are the same as Dean and Bill. We don't tip unless we need something totally different from the normal service. You'll get all consumables replaced every time you receive service.

We only use studios but I usually leave like $3 out for them. I just feel bad not leaving anything at all. Although I don't think it's part of the T&T routine they have made up the beds too if we left them unmade as well as replacing the bathroom toiletries.

Bottom line it's up to you, somewhere along the line we created tipping and people have a different opinion on when to tip and how much. I don't understand how some employees get tipped and others don't, IMO tipping should be for exceptional service above and beyond, not something given because the employee expects it. Sometimes all the employee cares about is getting tipped and service can suffer because of it.
