talking cats video LOL

my cat 'talks' but nothing like that. These you really can seem to understand them...

I saw those on AFV. :cool1: I have three cats. One of them every Sunday morning asks for milk.It really sounds like she is saying milk. I was told it isn't really good for them, so in case that is true she only gets a small saucer with a little over a tablespoon of milk once a week. the other two don't like milk.

That was funny.

They have a special kind of milk made just for cats. My mom gives it to her cat.

Virgo10:Come and visit my 16 kitties!

I hope the original poster doesn't mind me asking you Virgo10:Did you adopt all you cats as adults? We had 3 adult cats when we adopted an adult cat from the local shelter. And even though we kept them apart and introduced him slowly to them it was still high noon when they saw him for the first time and for at least three months after that!
We swore not to adopt an older cat again because it was really, really difficult to get him incorportated with our other 3 (very spoiled) cats.Since then we adopted two more,(from our local shelter) one was 6 weeks old and the other was 13 weeks old. They were very easy to introduce to the present clan and everything has worked out great since.
So what's your secret for introducing adult cats??
Debbie
By the way Funhouse8 that was an hysterical video! Thanks for sharing.

Hi! All the cats except the Little Kitten, Buddy and Legs were pretty much full grown when we introduced them to the other cats. Mollie and Tessie (the Siamese sisters) were also quite young but they joined us when I was still sane and only had three other cats besides them.

Time is the most important thing to give a new cat. Cats don't use their eyes to identify each other, they use their smell. If the newbie has an odor the other cats don't recognize, they will perceive it as a threat.

When I had the three stray mother cats and their babies in the house, the regular cats would even hiss and have a fit over the kittens. On various occasions, they even acted scared and ran away. Nothing like a 15 pound cat fleeing in terror from a 16 OUNCE kitten! :rotfl2:

Some of the adult inductees were incorporated in a matter of days. Other, it took several weeks. Guess it depends on the personality of the kitty.

Anyway, now the youngest cat is Buddy and even he is nearly 3 years old. Like kids, all of them usually get along. If they don't, one of the cats, Mom Cat, will come over and beat the tar out of the two that are arguing. :rotfl:

Virgo10,Thank you for your quick reply! We absolutely love our six cats and would love to adopt an adult kitty that needs a home but our cats are sooo
spoiled and they are very territorial. Not to each other but to strange adult cats.It literally takes us around 3 months to get an adult cat introduced to and settled in with the clan.It is not easy and it requires alot of time I just don't have anymore.
Our youngest is turning 3 in April. They are all sooo funny and wonderful, loving cats.
I thank god for them every single day.
Debbie

I alway thought cats where evil beings...this confirms it.
