Talked to My Guide This Morning

I called to ask some questions about adding on at SSR. I learned the following, which you guys may know all this, but I thought it worth repeating in case some may not.

Dec Use Year is still available to current DVC members, but not to new buyers.

Because the resort is selling so quickly, the $10.00 pp incentive will reduce to $5.00 on November 1, 2003.

All facilities at SSR will open up when the first buildings open up, meaning pool, dining areas, spa, etc. will all be open at that time. The second set of building open up 4 months later than the first ones.

Did your guide mention an opening date? Several different dates have been mentioned. We are planning an extended trip in April/May, my best friend and I , and the SS spa was hopefully going to be a large part of our plans. May 1st would work perfectly for us....the May 16th mentioned several times will be past our trip . I have faith in the magic of pixie dust that all will work out in our favor !!

Funny you should ask because I thought of asking that as soon as I hung up the phone. I called him right back and he was already away from his desk. So, sorry I don't have an answer on that one for you. I will ask if I need to call him again.

We met with our Guide while down there (Friday, 10/3) and he confirmed the May 17 opening date for SSR.

I was just told by my guide that it would be June 1st. Maybe she is wrong?

what is the advantage of a december use year, that is available only to current dvc members and not new dvc members at SSR&S.

We were told June 1 when we purchased last week.

At the member update and on our tour of the models at the sales center at BWV on Sept 30th, the opening date was going to be May 17th. The new sales center at SSR wiil open only days before this date as it will not be completed until then.

Thanx for the info. It is good to know the discount is in effect until 11/1, since we will be visiting (and considering an add-on) next week.

Just spoke to my guide today, and she told me that SSR is scheduled to open May 17. Also that 2004 SSR points will be available to use beginning in December to book ressies for after May 2004. No maintenance or payments will be due until May. The $10 incentive is still in effect. I'm leaning heavily towards adding on there. She told me she had inventory available at BWV, also. The only concern I have about adding on at SSR is that if the opening gets pushed forward, and I can't use my points which I need to make the arrangements I want for our 2004 trip in June. I don't have quite enough current points to be able to just borrow from 2005 and just cover by "banking back" my new points when they do become available. Confusing, huh?!
