What is it exactly? I mean, I know it's supposed to be a replica of the country and showcases some typical architecture etc... and they all have a restaurant, but is that it? Is it just kind of a scenic replica to walk around?

There are shops in each country, quick service and table service restaurants, snack carts, theatres with shows, Mexico and Norway (being refurbished) have rides. We love world showcase!

The cast members who work in each country speak English and their native language fluently. They wear name tags that tell the city where they are from. They are often college students on a one year program. I find it so interesting to chat with them.

It's a tiny taste of represented countries - atmosphere, food & drink, live entertainment, shopping, music, gardens, some special character greets, some rides, some tourism films and at night a spectacular lake fireworks show. Cast members in each area come from the country they represent.

There used to be some pretty good entertainment in many of the countries (bands, fife and drum corps, actors, etc), but there is a lot less of that than there used to be. I do miss those little touches but there is still quite a bit to do in World Showcase. I like to see the American Adventure show, check out the shops in China and Japan, see the museum in China, take a ride in the Mexico pavilion, and get a bite to eat in Italy

World Showcase is fabulous. The three films (Canada, France and China) are great. The American Adventure is the best show of its kind in any Disney Park. The food is awesome, and the architecture throughout WS is amazing.

What is the American Adventure?

Yep and some good street shows too that are no longer there.

What is the American Adventure?

It's a combination movie/animatronic performer show (think Carousel of Progress or Hall of Presidents) that shows the history of America from start to very close to present. It's extremely well done, and pretty moving, IMO. They're even not afraid to touch on the darker parts of our nation's history, though only briefly.

It's a can't-miss for me.

I'm intending to do agent P's world showcase adventure next time I go. I don't care if it's for kids hah.

Also the Japan shop is awesome. Everything from beautiful crafts to anime plushies.

I know we're definitely going there as we want to do the Pick a Pearl. I want to get matching necklaces for my DD and I.

overall, there are people who go to disney for the rides and those who go for the vibe or the general atmosphere. epcot is definitely not a park for the rides (although test track and soarin are pretty good). i love getting a little exposure to the different countries and considering whether to visit one for real. i hope they keep the food options unique and distinct.

The American Adventure is the best show of its kind in any Disney Park.

could stand to be updated, though. not sure lance armstrong is still the hero he was perceived to be back when the film was shot. ;)

My favorite parts of World Showcase - Christmas shop in Germany, pastries in France, yum! Tea shoppe in England, China's calligraphy artist, Agent P Missions, Japan's koi pond, street performers in Italy, riding the ferry across the lake, glassblowers in Mexico, Canada's garden, pretzels in Norway, boat ride in Mexico, France's movie and and the little African inspired kiosk at the Outpost.

Also, people who like alcohol are kept very happy in the World Showcase (their wallets are another story). Even though we don't drink we still love it!

Don't miss the kiosk across from China called The Joy of Tea. Their Mango Green Tea slushie is delicious and very refreshing on a hot day. You can get it with alcohol if you want, but in my opinion it ruins it. Be prepared for brain freeze.

Every person is different, but my wife and I can spend days just exploring the World Showcase, going through all the shops, chit chatting with cast members about their country, sampling the food, viewing the travelogue films, looking through different mini-museums in some of the countries, checking out the live entertainment... (the latter has been waning since last October). It's our favorite part of Walt Disney World.

World Showcase is our favorite part of WDW. I recommend stopping by the Rose and Crown in the UK Pavilion for a pint or two and then catching a set by the British Revolution.

The first time I went to Epcot I only scheduled a half day because it didn't look like there was much to do. BIG mistake on my part. It ended up being my favorite park. The world showcase is absolutely beautiful. You walk into one country to the next. Each country has their own shopping, eating, and entertainment experience. I love the shopping! There are items you don't normally see. Go experience shopping in India, Japan, or buy a special perfume/cologne from Paris! Experience eating Belgium waffles from Belgium! Or try a delicious wine and pasta from Italy! By FAR my favorite park!

Yes! I love the beautiful Japanese dishware and chopsticks! Everything there is amazing!

Or eat sushi from Japan! Each country have chefs that specialize in their countries cooking.

what's your favorite country? Maybe we can give you some tips! What month are you going?
