Talk me out of this decision - or into it!

I wanna buy an i7 mini PC with 512GB HDD and 8GB RAM to emulate games on (N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, PSP, etc.), HDMI out, bluetooth for an Xbox One controller. About £250. Naturally I'd buy refurb or new with returns accepted. Could be fiddly, but would work out cheaper than buying each console and the resolution out would be up to 4K.

Should I take the plunge?

Why not look into a Raspberry PI which would be much cheaper and could do all the emulating with RetroPi OS? I have a Raspberry PI 4 that I use for this and it's been outstanding. Not sure what you're trying to emulate but that machine seems like overkill to me.

If you have the disposable income, it sounds like retro gaming is your hobby, have at it and have fun.

Now that's not a bad idea

Tippy, you are my saviour! The Raspberry Pi 5 looks ample for what I need, costs minimal, looks good AND ReDream, the only emulator I'm really interested in, is optimised for the OS! I would never have thought of buying one if you hadn't suggested it!

Do it, do it, do it. Do Tippy's idea, do it, do it. Report back when you've played your first game on your new system! Do it, do it. sorry
