One week until time to make our dining reservations. We're trying to take into account that we are rope droppers and park hoppers and not go even more out of our way to eat as well. We are a family of 7 with 5 kids who are well traveled and WDW veterans. SO, I have two restaurants on my list that don't thrill me. (Underlined below, but wanted to give you the whole picture.)

Split stay first part of trip I'm happy with. Will be with extended family for this part. 4 nights and dinners: Yak & Yeti, The Wave, GF Cafe (Easter), and Chefs de France. All DxDDP and should be pretty good and conveniently located to our plans.

Then one night/two days at Universal.
Then back to Boardwalk Villas for dinner at Trat. al Forno
Day 2: Epcot at rope drop then late breakfast at Garden Grill, a break, then DHS w/ FP+ and dinner at Sci Fi.
Day 3: Rope Drop at MK then early lunch at LIBERTY TREE TAVERN , return to hotel and prob just dinner San Angel Inn at Epcot and maybe more rides if we feel like it.
Day 4: DHS rope drop and late breakfast at HOLLYWOOD & VINE , (Just because it's right there! Hate to waste 7 dining credits on it, but what else is better and won't run us ragged?) Then we will probably use our FP+ at MK and spend the rest of our last day there. But return to dinner at Ale and Compass because it's new and pretty close to our hotel.

Advice and possible alternatives please! 4 of us are on DxDDP but splitting credits between 7 of us because we're in 2 villas and we can. This plan still leaves us with at least 2 TS credits left which we may use on QS or break into snacks, so we really don't need to save credits.

Thanks!

We enjoyed H&V for breakfast- but I might choose an early lunch at Sci-Fi. It's a must do for my family on every trip!

Not sure what you consider a late breakfast time for your HS day (H+V ends breakfast at 10:20) but what about Brown Derby for an early lunch unless a character meal is the driving force?

Definitely doesn't have to be a character meal. We have others planned and only my youngest would be interested in H&V's characters. Wish there was another breakfast choice here. Brown Derby is 2 TS credits I think. We could make that work with sharing at most meals, but I'm concerned the kids may not like the choices there. (Anyone eat there with kids that liked it? I'm sure we could buy kids meals OOP. and just use TS credits for 3 or 4 of us.)

We went there for an unexpected lunch with 2 kiddos. An always burger eating 8 y/o and a 12 y/o who is more adventurous. He had a chicken sandwich (only the 2nd time at Disney he dinna eat a burger, LOL) and she opted for the chicken noodle soup and a chopped salad. The 12 year older is coming back to DW with us and when told we were eating there for Christmas Day she was very happy.

I saw a multi generational family eating there: grandparents, grown kids and their offspring. One of the little girls was a toddler and she kept walking from one end of the table to the next (table sat about 12) trading what lap she was sitting on and grabbing food from their plates. Too cute.
I got the feeling eating at this restaurant was something the grown kids had done when they were younger.

When we went there we were OOP and I didn't know anything about the dining plan:).
