It seems universal; EVERYBODY seems to love 'Ohana at breakfast. I had an extra breakfast opening so I scheduled an ADR for our last full day at WDW...now talk me into keeping it!

Attending: ME(40), DH(42), MIL(65), FIL(68), DD(15), DD's BFF(15) and DS(6).

The inlaws don't care where we go; they'll go wherever and enjoy it if the kids do. I guess the same goes for dh and myself. Personally speaking, though, I don't care for Lilo and Stitch. That is to say that they don't appeal to me. Maybe I should watch the movie...would that make a difference?

As a side note, we have more than enough character meals planned, so don't feel like you need to suggest an alternative. We pretty much have all the character meals covered.

Thanks in advance.

We did Ohana's for breakfast and the breakfast was good. I liked the Hawaiian theme. However, my DS9 likes Lilo and Stitch so that was the reason we went. Mickey and Pluto are there too. They do some games with the kids and the interaction with characters was just like any other character dining. If you already have other character dining and you are not into Lilo and Stitch, I'm not sure you if you should really do this. I think the draw is the characters not the meal - as with a lot of character dining. Do you have other options for breakfast that day?
Hope this helps!
Debbie

Coming from a huge Ohana and Stitch lover, I wouldn't go if I were you. It's your vacation so do what you really want to do. On my last vacation, I had Tony's planned for months and one day realized I wasn't excited for it at all. So I switched it to do the Wishes Dessert Party, which I was excited for, and it all worked out so well. Enjoy yourself - don't get "talked into" doing something you aren't crazy about.

I can't talk you into Ohana because I LOVE Kona so much more. Kona really is an amazing, relaxed breakfast. I can't go a trip without it.

If we don't do 'Ohana, we'd probably just do Captain's Grill or Kouzzina for breakfast since we're staying at BCV. Truthfully, I don't care one way or another, but the trip is for the kids' enjoyment and not necessarily mine. DD is 15 and has already cast her vote for the meals she wants, so she doesn't care one way or another. DS is 6 and would probably enjoy it.

We LOVE Ohanas for breakfast!!! It is a delicious meal and plenty of it. They bring it family style so you dont have to get up to fetch your breakfast and you are right there when the characters make their rounds! We go to Ohanas everytrip....on our next one, we are switching it up to take dd3 to see Piglet at CP. She is so into Piglet now, and we will hit Ohanas up again on our next trip!

First time we went, we loved it...We had a view of the castle...The pineanpple bread was amazing...The rest of the food was the standard breakfast foods...Server brought two waffels to start and made sure to come and see if we wanted more....Mickey and Pluto looked really cute and the kids enjoyed the parade....Our kids are not really into Lilo and Stich either but they were fine with them coming over...

Second time we went the pineapple bread was not as good...We we offered waffles only once...We had to ask and wait a long time for seconds of everything...We did not hav ea view of the castle...Kids still liked the characters...But overall we were not as pleased as the first time...

Third time we went was not good at all....The characters took a really long time to come....It was a long process for waiting to be seated, to waiting for coffee and food...Again, we were not offered seconds on the waffles...The pineapple bread was better than visit number two but still not as good as the first time...

We are not going back next trip...

One plus is it is a characters meal that is NOT a buffet...Which is a nice change of pace from all the buffet meals....Place is very big so even when it is crowded it doesn't feel it...

Are you staying at the Poly? It might be worth it to go if you are already there....Kona is a good choice but I am not sure it is worth travelling to...

We like the Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast especially with a big group....The food is good and the atmopsphere is fun...Just a thought.

No. We'll be at BCV. The ADR is for 8:00 on our very last day at the parks. I don't wan to wait forever for seating, so that might be a problem. We'll be eating dinner at WCC earlier in the week, so I don't particularly want to do that again.

Seating should not be terrible at 8:00...But do get there a little early...

Did you already have Cape May on your list?

Yeah, I'd rather talk you out of 'Ohana for breakfast. It's a pretty standard and boring menu. You'd be better off going a few steps to the other side of the building and grabbing your morning grub at Kona.

We used to love breakfast at Ohana but the last time we were there the service was so awful that I can't recommend it. I don't mind paying a tremendous amount of money for breakfast but I do expect good service, and I like great service. I actually had a waitress who insisted that she had brought me cream for my coffee the second time I asked her for it

....because I was hiding it just to torment her?

We ate here on our last trip and enjoyed it so much. The food was good, and it is all brought to your table. We had a very good server. We decided to go there for dinner this trip. Have fun planning!

I think I would pick something in the EPCOT area. You are going to need to be packed and ready for departure if you plan on visiting any parks after breakfast. Resort check out is 11am, noon if you are lucky to get late checkout. You would need to get up at 5am if you need pack, shower, deliver bags to bell services and catch a bus to the MK, then catch boat/monorail to the Poly to do all that before 8am. Personally that does not sound like a fun way to spend my last day of vacation.

Good advice, but it's our last full day...we don't leave until the next morning after breakfast.

I just can't decide. I think I'll keep it for now and then we can always decide to cancel it when we get there.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE "Ohana Breakfast... we've been there about 4 times..albeit it's been a while since the last...

I am NOT a fan of Stitch... but there have been different Characters there each time we've visited and it has never JUST been Lilo and Stitch...

We've seen Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale there as well....

I'd vote "YES". Your DS6 will love the antics / parade / characters...

The 15 Girls should love the Polynesian theming... my girls always do...

It'll be nice to check out the Poly during your visit... it's beautiful.

We loved the food and the family dining.

Our last few visits we stayed at BC and left to do 'Ohana breakfast. WE LOVE BC....but we love Poly too and IMHO... the theming is just better at Poly and the Poly breakfast.

(disclaimer - we have done Cape May Dinner 4x or so but never the breakfast)

You are close to MK so plan it for an MK day...

Have a magical trip !

Mary

For what it's worth, Ohana's is always at the top of my kid's list to go to. Also funny to note, they have never even watched an episode of Lilo and Stitch! These 2 characters were the best at interacting with my children, and many more around us. That's not to say that any of the characters, at any of the other meals were bad, it's just that these spent so much time with us, and were determined to draw our DD out of her shyness. As a parent, I really appreciated that. The view was wonderful to us, and the food was great, although the standard eggs, potatoes, bread, bacon, sausage, and waffles. No choices beyond that.

Again, there are lots of better breakfasts, with better choices/varieties, but we will return there time and time again just to experience the Polynesian resort and those 2 particular characters.

I'm not a fan of breakfast or Stitch, but I love Ohana breakfast. In fact, it's in the running for my favorite character meal. (Again, that means a lot because I don't usually eat breakfast.)

We were there for breakfast in January and again earlier this month. We stayed at Poly in January so it was particularly convenient, but when we stayed at BC earlier this month we got a cab and made it to our 7:30am ADR very easily. We were seated immediately both times and easily made it to MK in plenty of time to see the opening show shortly before 9am. Service in January was outstanding and service this month was very good.

So the reasons I love it: I love the early morning view of the lagoon with the castle in the distance. It feels far more relaxed than other character meals and service has been quick but not at all rushed. I like the pineapple bread, the fresh fruit, the coffee, the juice and (I know this is highly unusual) the bacon. Everyone else in our family loves the Mickey waffles, too. I'll admit that although I'm not a Stitch fan, our three boys love him, so it's really fun to see them interact with Stitch. (My parents were with us earlier this month, and they had absolutely no idea who Stitch was - but they loved it.) Of course, we all love Mickey, so it's always fun to meet him. I also prefer the family style service to a buffet because it's so much easier than juggling plates with three kids (although that's getting easier as they get older!) It's fun and festive with a beautiful view - just a great way to start the day! :wizard:

We loved O'Hana breakfast so much more. The pineapple bread was wonderfully tasty. I can't say why we loved it so much other than to tell you the food was good and the atmosphere was fun. We have made it a MUST for our next trip too.

and yea, watch the movie...
