Simply, I know the OP has in the past camped at Ft. Wilderness. I don't know about whether it was an RV or what, but I know she camped. She is personally finding the choices for a family of 5 limiting in Disney, and investigated the cabins, having stayed previously at the fort and liking the fort. Her reply was I know a knee-jerk reaction.
Almost every 4th or 5th request on the resorts board for information about a resort is--"Talk me into __________" be it any type of resort location.
I am sorry you all thought she personally though low of Ft. Wilderness. I can assure you she does not. However, the replies she has recieved here has probably turned her away from the fort completely. I know they have for me, another person with a family of five also in the past interested about the cabins. No longer, I assure you, if I am going to feel unwelcome there.
ETA: And I love how people ASSUME the laziness of another person. This is an anonymous board and people are reading too much into her question.
All I have to say is WOW. Most internet boards have drama, but I guess a good snap into reality is needed sometimes. Even Disney boards have snarkiness!
As a newbie, but a jaded soul that expects the worst at times, I totally did not see the OP being rude or coming here with an agenda, but since we are cabin dwellers at this time, my opinion may not count much. This little guy indicates sarcasm. Do we get extra points for roughly 200+ nights in the Fort in a Winnebago in the last 10 years before our last lowly trip in a cabin??
Like me or not, I ain't leaving. I love the Fort just as much as anyone else here regardless if I haven't posted more than my little "teen digit" number of postings. And, just for the record, our stays in the cabins for the next 12 or so months is CAMPING to our family just as much as our Winnebago was -- may Sweet Betsy RIP.
And, just so that I'm laying it all out now......ROLL TIDE!

PS-thought I'd get this in before we get locked.

Ok, not really....I don't need to be "convinced" to stay at the Fort!
But I know NOTHING about the cabins.
Anyway, plug the cabins for me!!

People, look at the thread. Did all of you get beaten up in high school? Cmon, this speaks of your insecurities. " ..move along, nothing to see here"..says the officer
Are the loops fairly quiet? They seem a good distance from most amenities; we'll have our bikes, so are there bike racks at places like the pool, the marina, etc.? (sorry, I should know that but like I said, it's been quite a while!).

The OP did ask some specific questions. I would help her out but I haven't been to the Fort yet.

But I know NOTHING about the cabins. My Fort experience is limited to campsites and it's been many years at that. I have read all sorts of facts and info on them, but there's nothing like first-hand experience, kwim?Feel free to "search" the cabins through this forum. There is a ton of information and even pictures of the cabins. Also, look for trip reports of people who have stayed at the cabins.
Are the loops fairly quiet? It depends. We cannot possibly know who your neighbors may be at the time of your visit. I've only camped at the Fort once and had no problems with loud people or loops. However, I have read on here of others who have had extremely loud and obnoxious neighbors. And suprisingly, it was not members of this board. Imagine? They seem a good distance from most amenities; we'll have our bikes, so are there bike racks at places like the pool, the marina, etc.? There are bike racks and since you have bikes, getting around the Fort should not be a problem. A golf cart rental is always a possibility.(sorry, I should know that but like I said, it's been quite a while!).
We're looking to spend a bit more time at our resort on our next trip, and I think the Fort is great place to do that. I also like the idea of the separate bedroom.....DH and I can get up in the mornings and move about, make coffee and let the kids sleep a bit.
Anyway, plug the cabins for me!!

"LegoMom3" ,, "Talk me into a cabin....."
no.
Exactly!Seriously. You will not stay in a cabin because of what someone posted on here. It is not that they post it has bugs or smells or something negative about the cabins. Disney welcomes you and your money at any resort.
No, I did not get beat up in high school therefore, I guess I don't have any (or at least many) insecurities. But, to make you feel better, I have answered the questions the OP asked.People, look at the thread. Did all of you get beaten up in high school? Cmon, this speaks of your insecurities. " ..move along, nothing to see here"..says the officer
Fail.
Again, Does the OP have any specific questions?

...In fact, about the only thing that riles this group up is the whole "convince me to stay" thing...
