I wll be in Disney 12-23 till 12-26. I just upgraded my dining plan from the basic to the next level. This planing 3 dinners a day is so streesful. Just to plan times so the next meal you will be hungry. I know I won't be able to eat that much plus 2 snacks a day. What I will do I will get my 6 mickeymouse rice crispie bars to bring home, no wait I will use a few of those credits for dole whips, oh and the school bread, and I can't forget my mickey mouse icecream bar. I am so stressed tonight from trying to plan my dining around my vacation, I tried to get the castle for Christmas lunch, silly me :rotfl:

I wish I had your stress!!!!;) :lmao:

Have fun, it is going to be a wonderful Christmas.:goodvibes

Did you go back to the basic dining plan? I am starting to thing that is probably the better choice

I did. I decided that for me it was more cost efficient to do the basic plan and pay OOP for my extra few meals. Otherwise I was adding in ADRs I didn't REALLY want just to use my credits. The way I figured it out was I made a spreadsheet of all my ADRs and how much the meal would cost. Then I added on tax. I was barely breaking even. Maybe doing something similar would help you also. If you want I can recreate the one I did and email it to you so you can figure it out.

The other reason I decided to give the DxDDP the axe is that DS is NOT going to sit through 3 TS meals a day. Especially not EVERY day. Maybe when he's older we can indulge, but for now we just pick our favorites. I use a spreadsheet to figure out which ones to use DDP for and which ones I'll do OOP.

I'm an Excel geek lol

That's why we never do the dining plan. I can barely get my family to go to one ADR a day, and usually end up blowing off at least two ADRs per trip because they're doing something fun and don't want to leave the park, or stop riding ToT, or something!

But at least it's "fun" stress for you!

I recently upgraded to deluxe for our trip because we are arriving early the first day and leaving late the last day so we are able to spread 5 days worth of meals over seven days. It really seems to work out to our advantage that way by having one or two TS a day for seven days instead of five. We may have to do a couple TS but since they give you Snack credits when you do, we'll just use those for take home treats for friends.:surfweb:

How about doing some Signature Dining (two credits) and then you would only have to plan two TS per day (and use your snack credit for the missed meal.) We were on the regular dining plan and it was just too much food when you figured back then we also got an appetizer, so we tried some Signature Dining to use up the credits.

I just ended up changing back to basic dining plan. I would rather pay for a few things then have to run for TS credits especially at Christmas time ( I am there Christmas week) plus I have MS can still walk but not far and not alot so I think the basic for me and paying some OOP for things are going to work mush better ohew, I feel so much more relaxed. We did the DDP years ago when you also go an appetizer and that was wa y to much food. When I go to othe rplays for vacation they don't have dining plans and I am just fine. I think money wise this is going to be the best plan for me, I THINK. :rotfl:
