Welcome to NC Belle and NC Beast's October's adventures!

A tidbit to start since...well, sleeping before a trip is real hard for me. plus, I'm determine to maintain my lead in Webmaster John's posting war. ;)

We began our day on time, but somehow wound up leaving almost 2 hours late. We did our packing at 530 am and checked off what the house needed to be done. NC Beast did all of the driving. Well...after a lot of stops, traffic, detours, and stubborness..we made it to CSR. I hope we remember how to get to the Hess station because the car is below 1/8 tank. Someone was too tired and hungry to stop.

Jessie, our dog is staying at a nice kennel where they spoil her rotten.

As you can see...someone is not a happy girl when she realize that she was not going roadtripping with us this time.

We were planning to eat at Cape May, however...we missed our adr by an 1.5 hours.

The resort check -in was easy. I did some last minute changes and the concierge called Maya Grill which took us in right away.

Kevin in the past did a food review a while back on the Maya Grill that says it was basically less than stellar.

Tonight, it was good service and pretty tasty food.

Our warm bread/plaintain basket came with a nice herbal sauce.

We had been given our diet cokes with lemons quickly and the waiter kept up with our thirst.

YAY Belle! Traveling vicariously with you!

I ordered the 2 Pulled Pork Empanadas which is served with a chipotle cream. It was NC Beast declared as awesome.

He had the Crispy Gulf Shrimp which is wrapped in a wonton skin with pork and ginger filling. It is served with passion fruit and hot chile dip. There were 4 until i stole one from his plate. :)

My main entree was a NY strip, medium well, with broccolini and mashed potatoes topped with a charred pepper. It was mild without the pepper, however I poured some of the bread dipping sauce on top and it was pretty good.

NC Beast had the Achicote Grilled porkchop which was served on black bean/rice with a tomatillo sauce (looked freshly made) and plaintain chips. He only gave me a bite of his porkchop. It was pretty moist and lightly flavor.

Dessert-- the waiter highly recommend the chocolate cake with a cherry chambord sauce. i had that and NC Beast ordered the Spicy churros.

We agreed that the cake wins. it was an awesome sauce. The churros were a tad greasy, but good.

Maya Grill--- we will return here again. It took 45 miutes...we were not rushed nor waiting too long. Our food was hot and fresh at a time just before the resteraunt closed for the night. The waitstaff seemed cheerful and friendly.
total before tip if we paid cash-- just over $103. tip was about $18.00

Friday morning plans: Try to be at MK for rope drop with lunch at Liberty Tree.

Oh yeah a live trip report! :cool1: Hope you guys have an awesome time!

I might need to stop in another country for drink before commiting to try it. I'm not a big German food (except for the desserts and wine) since I was young. I might give a go if we have room in the budget.

Awesome report so far NC Belle !!!

I'm trying Capt. Jacks this next trip...never been there, but it's a place my BF wants to go to....and since I'm dragging her there, I'll let her have her way on this one (she's NOT a Disney Fan...but I hope to change her mind after seeing Disney through my eyes...)

Have a great time in the MK

Oh I know that look....that's the "you are the WORST humans in the world look"!

Looking forward to the rest of the report!! Have fun!

loving the report so far and great pics!

 MK was pretty crowded today. We will post some food porn from Liberty Tree later on plus a recipe.

We both got haircuts this afternoon at the Barber Shop. I told the stylist to surprise me, but not go super short. I now look sassy with the right amount of short hair.

We are planning to go to Narcosses for dinner and walk around the resorts and maybe partake in a beverage or 2.

Tomorrow we will have to use 8 snack credits and 4 total meal credits.

We went the same time 2 years ago and I was surprised how crowded it was. Guess end of October is off the list of non-crowded times to go.

Narcosses sounds lovely. Enjoy!

We had a very medicore meal at Narcosses. I will uploaded pictures. The resteraunt used to a hoping joint with people crowded in the lobby and outside waiting to go inside. I believe that tonight's chef (he did not tell us his name when he came out to discuss allergies. He blew things off many times during our meal. The wait staff was great. Mr. Prima Donna needs an attitude adjustment. He is killing the prior intergity of Narcosses when Chef Grey was in charge of the kitchen. The chef refused to come out to talk when it came to selecting from the dessert menu. He turnt his head away from me when he had to go out several times to other tables. We had a difference of opinion on what is acceptable in a mussels (more on this tomorrow). The bar was excellent in its mixology. The Maya Grill chefs/kitchen can school him in some cooking lessons.

I will give more details tomorrow when we change resorts.

We had a nice evening overall by taking our time leaving Gf and riding the monorail for a circut plus 1 stop.
