My little girl Loves The Lion King, we were lucky to go and see the stage production when it came to New Zealand.
Her 6th Birthday cake was also a Lion King cake.

I haven’t seen the show but Micechat has a recap with a lot of pictures in their Disneyland update from 5/30. They really liked it.

It looks like it is only offered on weekends based on its page, but it doesn't show up on the entertainment calendar at all. Can anyone confirm if it is running during the week or weekends only?

I'm confused too. The official press release said it would run Thursday to Monday but the app, show webpage and online entertainment schedule all say no showtimes for today.

But if you go to the webpage of Tale of the Lion King and change the date to tomorrow, it says they have shows at 12:30, 1:40, 2:50, 4:50 and 6:00.

We have start dates in DL on a Wednesday, Saturday and Tuesday, and I'll just plan on Saturday being the day we catch the show.

Honestly covid was my first thought when I read that the show should have been on today's calendar but wasn't. Very common right now.

It is showing. I saw it over Memorial Day weekend and it had a lot of times available and a lot of seating so don't worry if the line is long -- no need to stand in line.. just show up right before it starts. It is actually really great and a different take on the Lion King but with all the favorite songs (Circle of Life, I can't wait to be king, etc).

The people are not dressed up in animal costumes nor animal puppets though they use some props so you can tell which character is which. ie. The people representing Hyenas put on a gray ragged shawl, etc.

It is very uplifting and the songs and dances/dancers are great. Highly recommend.

The show description clearly has a disclaimer that the show "may not have daily showtimes." It was not playing last Saturday. Hoping to catch it this coming Saturday.

I am curious if this is the same show they do at WDW. Does anyone know? We tried to go see it there, but the line was so long they told us if we got in line at that moment (for the 1 pm show) that we might be able to get in for the 4 pm show, which was the 3rd show we'd be in line for!

It is not the same as FEstival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom. This one is a rework of a show they did for a season at California Adventure, just moved to a larger, permanent stage. It features a caravan of singers recounting the story of the Lion King. I do beleive the singing is live-miked, but there are no acrobatics or large animal floats.

They had a COVID outbreak amongst the cast and/or crew, so that's why some of the planned shows were cancelled.

It's a cute show, mostly just singing melody of songs. It's not a "full stage show" with floats/large props/etc....

....as others have said it was the same show briefly at DCA during day on World of Color stage area near water.

I don’t think the show has happened in at least a week due to covid outbreak in staff. Tomorrow would be the next opportunity for it to come back. Hoping to see it myself on Saturday.
