All of our VGC stays - 6/2024, 12/2025, 6/2026

About as relaxing as a Disneyland trip can be, I think. 😁 We walked about 8 miles each day. But we took our time and just enjoyed ourselves. I'm so happy we have DVC because I think it makes us less worried about "missing" anything because we know we'll be back fairly soon. I used to want to try to get in as much of our favorites as we can. But that's too stressful when a bunch of rides my husband and I like are ones our son doesn't go on. So a lot of times, we just skip those.

This trip, we didn't do any solo rides at all. But next time, I might try to get on Big Thunder or Indiana Jones. And my husband might try to get on Space Mountain. I wonder if we can use that LL we get from the hotel for those.
I agree, the more relaxed nature of the trips is a big benefit of DVC.

Just applied and approved for DAS for our son. Phew! They are getting picky these days so it's always stressful. Thankfully it was quick and painless. I'm more worried about applying for our next WDW trip because last time, they made us chat with a medical professional and it seemed like we were almost denied. The DAS program is truly a vacation-saver for us so I'm glad we were approved again.

Why do I always get sick before our vacations?! Thankfully, we are still 23 days away. But my son seems to have given me whatever respiratory illness he picked up at school recently. Often, because of my crappy immune system, viruses seem to stick around forever for me. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a quick and mild one! I actually haven't been sick at all since, I think, September. So the fact that I made it through winter without anything is pretty miraculous, honestly. Especially since my son had influenza B a couple months ago and I somehow avoided it.

It's his last week of school this week. I wanted to try to pack some non-clothing things for the trip but not sure if I'll have the energy for it or not. It's sometimes hard to pack when he's home because he gets a bit anxious about it. I wanted to set some things aside without him noticing. Maybe I'll feel up to it tomorrow.

We're supposed to go to an out of town graduation party this weekend and now I'm nervous we won't be able too. So I'm pretty bummed about it.

We were out of town for a different graduation party this past weekend. We stayed 2 nights in a hotel. Just a regular hotel room. Really made me miss our DVC rooms!

Hopefully being sick now will you help you not pick up something at WDW.

For us turmeric ginger immunity shots and budesonide nasal spray has kept all the viruses and bugs away even after plane rides, WDW, a cruise and a hospital visit.

We are 11 days away from the trip. I'm happy to report that whatever illness I picked up lasted less than a week! Very rare for me so that was exciting. I did get ahead of it by skipping my immunosuppressant med for a week (doesn't make a huge difference in fighting an illness but can help a little.) It's something I take once a week, on Tuesdays. I'm considering skipping it during our Disneyland week in hopes of keeping my immune system a bit better that week.

My son is out of school for the summer now. He seems excited about the upcoming trip. He keeps looking at it on the calendar. That makes me happy. I always get a little worried that he'll get burnt out on Disney trips. And this one is only 6 months after our last one. The closest he's ever taken 2 Disneyland trips. Though we did have 6 months between WDW and DLR back in 2024 as well.

We have a busy week of eye appointments, doctors appointments, swim lessons, and a special needs basketball camp (just a half day.) I also haven't really packed at all. So I'm hoping the week will go quickly and we'll manage to get everything done.

Earlier in the thread, we were contemplating taking a "break" day in the middle of our trip. But in the end, I let me husband make the final decision (because I really didn't care either way) and he picked no extra day this time. So here is how things will look...

Thursday June 11th - Drive to Colorado
Friday 12th - Drive to Utah
Saturday 13th - Drive to California
Sunday 14th through Thursday 18th - Disneyland/DCA. We take a short break every afternoon. On Tuesday, we may take a longer afternoon break so we can get some laundry done. We also hope to swim once or twice. Our 20th anniversary is on Wednesday but we don't really have anything planned for that.
Friday 18th - Drive to Utah (if we can get on the road early enough, I'd like to drive by our wedding chapel in Orange just to take a picture or two.)
Saturday 19th - Drive to Colorado
Sunday 20th - Drive home

We will basically take this exact trip next summer too. But I think we will add that 6th day in Anaheim (with no park visit.) It will be our first Disneyland Hotel stay so I'm looking forward to that.
