OK folks, now I know that I am updating fairly rapidly, but I have an ulterior motive. In 25 days I leave for a trip to WDW and I plan to write a Trip Report for that one as well. Plus I have an extra special event coming up in May which will also definitely deserve a TR, so I need to keep the pace going so as not to get too far behind or have three TRs going at once!
So here we go with another update.
It was our day in Cabo, and since it is a tender port (you need to climb onto smaller boats to get to shore), we opted to stay on the ship. We enjoyed a nice lunch in Tritons and decided to check out the ship a little afterwards. We explored the adult area which was closed at the time. Now it’s called After Hours. It used to be called Route 66, but now it had a classier vibe to it.
As we were in the corridor, the elevator stopped and the door opened. Karin, Tom, and Jill were coming back from their excursion. They waved to us from the back of the very full elevator. We had planned to go up to Deck 9 and ended up meeting Jill up there. I went to Sulley’s Sips, while she ate some chicken tenders since she had been whale watching all morning.
I noted for future reference that you could get a Dole whip, but never ended up partaking.
I got a DotD (Drink of the Day). It was a Tequila Sunrise and quite tasty! The bartender actually mixed it there, often times at this bar, they have it premixed, but this one she layered and everything.
We got some fruit from Daisy's Deli-ghts and took it back to the room. We also noted that they were serving the same two soups that were on the menu for lunch at Triton's. There were a lot of options for sandwiches as well, but Fran was just interested in fruit for a snack later.
I got the laundry from the dryer and put it away while she took a nap. I continued The Force Awakens and eventually got her up to go meet a few characters. First was Chip and Dale. Everyone loved my shirt, even the characters were pointing at it and making gestures. If you can't read it, the shirt says "Eat.....Cruise......Eat More". That was pretty much what we were doing this week!
Then we met Captain Mickey.
And finally Donald.
Once we finished with the characters we were far enough away from port that the on-board shops could open. We did some damage there, purchasing a couple shirts and two pairs of earrings for me.
Then we came back to the room. She laid down and I finished watching the Force Awakens. After about an hour I got her up for Dinner. Tonight it was was at Tiana's.
Before the food came out, Tiana came out and did a little bit of a “show”. This is what I could see. You’d think she could have moved around the stage or the room a little so those of us with a post in the view could have seen her. I'm not bitter or anything!
We both ordered the Hot crab dip
They didn’t give me enough bread croutons, but Fran gave me the ones she didn’t eat and it was perfect.
Also we both had the Mushroom soup, it was quite tasty.
Between the courses Louis makes an appearance, and he has the sense to mill around the tables so everyone gets to see him and have a photo op.
Fran had the turkey dinner, I’m pretty sure she liked it.
I had the shrimp served over jambalaya rice. The shrimp were a tiny bit overcooked, but then it’s hard to get them perfect when you’re cooking that many. They were still pretty good. Also the Jambalaya Rice wasn’t spicy at all. For me that’s a good thing, I think I ate all of this, it was a perfectly sized portion.
And Louis came back for another appearance!
I thought the cover of the dessert menu was just so cute!
This is the Cafe au Lait Martini, it was super good!
For dessert Fran had the Banoffee pie,
I had the tiramisu, it was kind of a strange sort of Tiramisu, not like I’d had before. Tasted fine, just a weird presentation.
When we got back to the room, we had another cute towel animal. I changed the dressing and we went to bed.
