Our travel party (2 staterooms) includes 3 adults. Can we carry a wine bag on with 6 bottles of wine in it or does each person need to have 2 bottles in their personal carry on?

There's some variation as to whether the person checking your bags will allow all 6 on one bag (probably yes, if you're all there together), or if you would each have to carry your own.

What happens if you put drink e.g. Wine in your main suite case

Do they take it out ?

Per Disney, all bottles and large liquids must be carried onboard. Practically speaking, you should not put liquids like that in your suitcase on the off chance it breaks. (Though there are great products that prevent it, and I have carried wine home from across the globe in my suitcase). There are some photos of how rough the luggage is handled getting it stacked up in the service elevators on board prior to delivery of your room. (@PrincessShmoo) There have been reports of people having soaked clothes, or worse I did read one report where it leaked all into another persons suitcase as well, and that was not fun to deal with. Additionally, there is screening of all luggage before it boards the ship, if they see that you have it in your luggage it will be set aside and you will have to go retrieve your luggage from the 'naughty room'. So while you were hoping you would have your luggage by 5pm, instead at 8pm, you'll get a letter asking you to come claim your luggage. Not a good use of your time.

In addition, there have been reports that the person who packed the liquids that broke was required to pay for the damage to the other party's possessions.

So if there any bottles in a suite case you will defo need to claim the luggage ?

Also am aware u can't bring hard liquor on the ship but how strict are they with this, if I take some as hand luggage will the defo take this out ?

As with anything there is human error or lack of scrutiny sometimes. This allows for exceptions to the norm. I cannot truthfully answer since I have not personally had it happen to me, nor do I know anyone who does the screening process. But more often than not, you see reports of people who have had wine bottles in their checked luggage need to claim it, not people bragging they got away with it.

The same goes with anything outside what Disney allows. Many times they will not ask to inspect the bottles as it goes through x-ray. Other times they will. I have not read many reports where people have reported back about the process at the terminal for hand carry items, to include what happens if they get the liquor from you. My guess is you have the option to return it to your car if you drove, or they would likely hold it until the last morning of the cruise for you and you can claim it before you disembark the ship.

We've always taken 4 bottles of wine aboard with us, even before the restriction. I take it in my day bag and, of late since the new rules came out, I've had the bottles checked more often than not. I have them in protective bubble wrap bags, and once the security officer wanted to make sure DW was with me as she was ahead of me and had taken off to check-in. Twice I've had to show the red wine was indeed wine and not liquor. On our latest cruise, out of NYC, I was just passed on through without question.

Im gonna have to start saving photos from your collection to help you out!
That's what I've done a little. The one that I just posted was actually someone else's photo from the Fantasy in 2013 (I asked if I could save it). I have one from the Dream in 2014 that shows how they stack up the luggage in the elevators:

How? Did they make you uncork the bottles?? That seems excessive and I would be pretty ticked to have all my wine opened/recorked!!

No, they don't make you uncork the wine. They just check the label if they ask to check. The only times I've carried on wine since the new restrictions I've only had one or two bottles in my bag. The guy manning the xray machine just asked me "do you have wine in your bag?" I answered yes and they waved me through.

The simple answer to your question is "yes" -- If you put wine (or beer or liquor) in your checked bag, you should expect it will be confiscated and returned at debarkation.

Enjoy your cruise!

I have no idea how strict they are, and don't care. I just follow their policies and everything is stress free!

I use protective bottle bags (bubblewrap covered in heavy duty plastic) that I got from Magellan's years ago. The x-ray showed an image that could have been either a wine or whiskey bottle (or vodka, rum, etc), so the security agent selected one of the bags and asked me to open it and show him the bottle. Didn't have to open the bottle. He thanked me and said to enjoy the wine and the cruise. The whole transaction took less than a minute.

FYI - I had to do the same on a Celebrity cruise as well about 5 years ago.
