My in-laws are in flight right now on their way here and then straight to the DLR for the weekend and their 1st DL visit. I snagged a 2 bedroom Villa :yay: I've seen multiple posts about going with the grandparents and then the grandparents who've posted here.... Sounds like we may like to do different things. I'm one of those go-go-go people. Any quick advice on what to do with them tonight and tomorrow? Or just slow down and let them take in the sights of DL? I'm assuming they won't be "ride" people (they're 60). I'm taking them to the rooftop view for WOC tonight, which is my favorite view of the show. Anything you remember from your first visit to DL that you'd suggest? I think since I'm there so often, I probably miss the little things that make a first visit special.

I would let them ride with DS6 because thier memory is going to be watching their grandchild have fun.

Speaking for myself, I'm 61 and most people have trouble keeping up with me! I love to ride every single ride, the more thrills the better. Maybe your in-laws will be the same? If not, watching the grandson will be the highlight I'm sure. Good for you for inviting them. Have a great time!

Thanks, maybe I was over-thinking it all. I just have read a couple negative posts on here and it worried me a bit. GCH is my favorite place to be, and I really hope they appreciate it like I do. I was floored to call and actually have a 2 bedroom villa available. I'm hoping the little guy warms up to them quickly and is excited to show them his park. I don't know that he'll be up for riding with them, but I hope he will. We're going to Mermaid tomorrow, so figured that was a good time for them to wander Paradise Pier on their own and look around. I've got to remember just because I love DL so much, it's not for everyone. We've got Goofy's tomorrow morning and that will give them a quick dose of Disney :)

It really depends on the grandparents. My parents are young at heart and fit and if anything, I have trouble keeping up! Mom rides pretty much anything, Dad's afraid of heights.

Have a wonderful time! Our multi-generational trip rocked! Can't wait to do another.

We've brought all the grandparents and, like other posters, it depends on the grandparents. My dad is 72 and rides everything but the Tea Cups (but neither do I) and mom is 67 and is less mobile but will try to get on what she can to have the experience with the grandkids. Mom-in-law is not a Disney nut like us and has had a wonderful time, again because of the kids. She thinks it's great that I'm such the planner and is happy to go along with anything I suggest. My all-time favorite moment was my girls first time on Tower of Terror. In the picture you see me holding on to the girls for dear life and all 3 grandparents looking our way to see how the girls are doing. Classic. :)
