We are here now with a family that has two small children that are in strollers. We go to Disney often but we haven't been with small children in quite some years. It seems like there are many places to eat and character greets that wouldn't let us bring in the strollers. Is this something new? Not upset about it, just wondering. We weren't quite expecting that. There were a couple of times when the baby was asleep that it would have been nice to leave him in the stroller when we ate but it wasn't a big problem to take them out and take them in. It was all counter service places. Also, at Pinocchio's House (or whatever it is called) they wouldn't even let us through to get a table while the men ordered. We were going to get the kids situated. There were many tables open so it wasn't a matter of us taking tables that someone who had their food already would need. The guys had the food in less than 5 minutes. We have eaten many times there before and they have never done that. Again, not complaining. Just wondering if this is the norm. We were here last summer and again the week before Christmas and didn't experience this. Wonder if they are changing all of the counter service places to do this?

The stroller thing is not new. The seating at tables before you have your food is relatively new, and is usually done during busier times.

~We have never been able to take a stroller into most of the indoor CS and TS restaurants we've visited at WDW, at most places we were required to use the stroller parking. I think I remember strollers at Earl of Sandwich, Captain Cooks and Mara, but that could have changed by now. We've never dined at "Pinocchio House", so I can't comment on that. :goodvibes

We've been with the little ones a few times and as a general rule strollers are not allowed inside attractions or resturants.

An exception was made at 'Ohana when our 1yr old DD was sleeping in the stroller, so exceptions can be made in some cases.

I have a feeling the rule is just to keep things from getting clogged up with strollers.

Agree. Please note the number of strollers parked outside these places. Can you imaging the gridlock if they were allowed inside? There really isn't that much room for navigating between tables and chairs in a lot of these places. Just getting my wheelchair to a table has proven a challenge at times.

As for not being allowed to get a table before you have your meal- this rule was instituted a couple of years ago at some of the more popular CS places. It is usually only enforced during the more busy times of the year. This prevents folks who are not eating (or are eating their own homemade meals) from taking tables from paying customers. There is nothing more aggravating and frustrating than cruising through the seating areas, carrying a heavy tray of rapidly cooling (or warming) food while searching in vain for an empty table and seeing lots and lots of tables occupied but with NO food at all on them.

Nope, not new. This is part of the "it's just me syndrome". Yes, you had ONLY two strollers but if their policy was to allow strollers in there would be no room to move. There are TONS of strollers.

As for finding a table...that is not new either. It is so people holding trays don't have to stand and wait while others that don't have their food are "saving" tables.
