Taking snacks to the park

We're heading to WDW in about one month and we're super excited. We bought the meal plan but are still planning to take our own snacks to the park for my kids, ages 8,6 and 6. What are some suggestions for good snacks to bring? I'm thinking granola bars for sure but I also want to bring some things that won't get crushed in our suitcases when we travel. Thanks!

I've packed applesauce pouches, fruit bars/snacks (100% fruit), dried apricots, raisins, etc., Bear Paws (I like President Choice banana ones more, but if you are in the US then you can't get them) and mini crackers.

I also pack a box of Cheerios for breakfast. Pick up some milk at the food court and you can eat it in the mugs they give you on the Dining Plan. They have spoons in the food court.

I pack some instant granola too to help stretch our credits. Use the hot water in the food court to make.

Not sure how long your flight is but you could pack some of those mini carrots (I'd put them inside a ziplock so they are double bagged).

Packing a little bit of food saves room for some gifts.

We took granola bars, bananas and bottled water to the parks with us. If someone was hungry in a line or while wandering around we would just grab a granola bar out of the bag.

We pack a bunch of baggies in our luggage, and pack things like Cheez-it and gold fish for snacks. If you would like a price comparison for snacks, I bought my son a cute little "Snack A-Long" pack at the park entrance when we were caught without snacks one day. It contained a single pack of cheddar mickey heads, mickey head pretzels, and mickey gummie bears and cost $9.95! Each item lasted for 2 snacks for my 3 year old, but still, you can save a lot of money by packing a few extra snacks from home.

I focused on bringing some healthier snacks since I knew that DS would get plenty of items that he wouldn't normally get at home. I brought raisins, almonds, squeezable fruit pouches, some whole grain crackers and some apples.

The apple sauce pouches are GREAT choices and can be eaten easily in lines. If you choose things like crackers, granola bars etc, pack them in the smallest plastic container they will fit in to avoid crushing them. At your girls ages, they are going to see all the really fun and cool snacks in the park and with the DDP, they will get a snack each day so maybe work this into your plan too. A few mickey bars and also let them share a few of the snacks like the soft pretzels. Many of the kids meals come with things like packs of carrots and grapes and apple sauce and cookies that if not eaten with the meal, make great snacks. We sometimes also take the adult dessert from CS meals to eat as snacks later.

Last May we took in apple sauce pouches, fruit cups, gogurts and string cheese (great cold snack if you are taking a small cooler), jerky and goldfish. We always took a couple sweet things too like gummi bears, tootsie pops and skittles for our sweet tooth.

We had the dining plan and we honestly didn't snack that much. We were full from our CS lunch & desserts and our other meals were mostly character buffets. That left no time to get hungry! We drove & brought a lot of snacks and breakfast items. We ended up not eating breakfast in our room very often because the kids & I liked the Mickey waffles in the food court so much. We paid OOP for them. Our DDP snacks were mostly Mickey ice creams.

I like bringing the applesauce pouches also. I like that you can put the cover back on if in line or need to put it away before its finished. Granola bars are easy enough to pack. If you pack the quaker chewy granola bars, beware that they can get melty in the heat and be messier than you anticipate. Pretzels or cheese-its are good choices as well as some fruit.

We saved our snack credits for a cinnamon bun at Main St. Bakery, Dole Whip floats and ice cream at Epcot.

I found the snacks large enough to share with my niece so we had 2 snacks we could eat each day. We didn't use them all but brought back treats for the rest of the family.
