I have a 2 1/2 and 17 month old and we will be going to WDW next month!!! They use the playtex sippy cups and I didn't know if others bring sippy cups to WDW and what kind they bring. I will mainly need it for my 17 month old and wasnt sure if I should bring her playtex ones or do take n toss, we really like the non spill ones. If you do bring regular sippies how do you clean them when you are there?

My boys don't need sippy cups anymore, but I have used my share in the past. I also liked the non-spill cups for really little kids. Cups tend to get dropped and tossed and the non-spill feature is nice to have when you're traveling. I would bring a couple per child so you don't have to continually wash the same cup (i.e. if they have milk for breakfast and juice for lunch and you don't get a chance to wash the cup in between times).

As for washing, I would bring a small bottle of dish soap and keep it for washing at the resort. At the parks, put some dish soap in an even smaller bottle that you can carry in your bag (like an empty travel size shampoo bottle). During restroom breaks, it's easy to wash up a cup that was just used. You can also put some wet paper towel squares in a zip lock and add a few drops of dish soap. At cleaning time, just use one of the towels to wipe out the cup and then rinse. :)

I wouldn't recommend the take 'n' toss ones as I've found they tend to leak and are bound to make a mess! Take the Playtex ones, rinse them out in the bathrooms, then try to refill them with the same kind of liquid. It's really the easiest way if the kids don't do well with water bottles or straws IMHO. Have fun!

Great ideas, thank you. I think we will take the playtex ones.

I agree about the take n toss leaking, I am sick of them they get everywhere. I knew someone would have great ideas here! Thanks

have you tried nubby cups. you can get them for a .99 at walmart. There pretty good at not leaking and you can toss them without breaking the bank! i always carried those pre soaped wash cloths to clean out dd's cups!

Just a tip- the issue I always had with washing out the playtex ones in the sink at the hotel was that you never really can get that stopper so clean- the water pressure just isn't there.... We have recently found character cups(the ones I found are Thomas but I saw Dora one also) They are sippy cups without a stopper- AND THEY WORK! I have 2 boys using them and if they can't get them to spill- no one will. They are insulated also. very easy to clean without that blasted stopper thingie.

We no longer use sippy cups (stopped using for dd when she was 17 months) but I would second the Nubby cups. They are easy to clean and they are cheap. My dd2 always popped the lids off of the disposables and made a huge mess. The last 2 trips I had babies on bottles (6 months and turning one). I would take the dish soap and wash them all in the sink each night and sit them up to dry overnight.

Our last trip, I took 5 sippy cups for my son. I used 2 playtex cups a day and maybe I am gross, they were always filled with apple juice, I didn't wash them out till we got back to our hotel room that night. I'd switch cups for the next day. We had another advent cup that he drinks milk out of and he only drinks milk in the morning. As for washing them, I brought those new Dawn Toss N' Wash. I found them at Giant. They were great. You could even take them to the parks with you and wash them there if you want.

I think we will take our playtex ones and maybe I will just bring some extra valves. We have tried the nuby and the girls didn't like them. They love their playtex ones plus all of our cups are disney and the girls love them! We have to bring dish soap anyways b/c my sister has a 9 month old and will have bottles to wash so we can wash everything together!

Oh and my girls only drink milk and water(we are very picky on what they eat and drink) so it shouldn't be too bad to wash out. My 2 1/2 year old can just drink from a water bottle so that will be one less cup to deal with.

We took the playtex ones. I just buy the Dawn Toss (I forget what they are called, but its a box of disposable dish cloths) and wash them out every night when we get back to the room. It figures by the time we got in the DVC and will have a dishwasher that I no longer use sippy cups.
