When we go back this year my DS wants to take his "rather full" laynard and his Pal Mickey back to WDW. (we forgot the laynard last yr and he was heartbroken).
I think we are supposed to pack the pins but I'm afraid they might "walk off" as now the suitcases must be kept unlocked.
Has anyone taken them onboard in a carryon?? Did you have any sucurity hassles?
He carried Pal home last year so I'm assuming as long as he's off he'll be ok
thanks
PS the kids think we're going in Dec. We're surprising them w/ July trip-they think we're going to Hershey Pa, so wearing the laynard is out(at least till we get to the gate and he reads the departure board);)

I've packed my pins and not had a problem with them disappearing, I've also carried them on and not had a problem with security. I tend to carry them on when bringing the hard to replace limited editions, and pack when just bringing the lanyard of the "tradeable" ones.

You'll be fine with Pal Mickey as well.

Hi, my kids put theirs in their carryon bags on the way and on the way back they wore them.

How is Pal Mickey? I didn't realize that it was something that you kept. I was wondering about that . I was thinking how germy. That is cool that you get to keep him. How much is he and how good does he work? Is it something that you would recommend doing? Is it a pain to carry him around all day? This is the one that was on the video, yes? The one that is suppose to tell you about parades and stuff?

Pal Mickey isn't just for rental. You can buy a brand new one in the box.

And I believe the rentals are thoroughly cleaned before putting them back into service. :)

We bought pal Mickey new $50. He talks in the parks and updates for new things when you go back. He reminds you about park specific parades etc. He also plays games when you squeeze his hands or tummy. He tell corny jokes, does a Disney trivia type game and "mickey says". My kids love him play with him at home all the time and can't wait to take him back. We used a waterbottle strap to carry him. He has a clip but it falls off pants etc easily. The kids like the strap cuz when he "shakes" in the parks to let you know he's got something to say, they can hold him to their ear to hear him if it;s noisy.

We pack our pins-- but we only take the "traders" for the most part. So, I guess it would be upsetting if the were "lost" but not the end of the world. We do lay them between clothing. So you'd really have to go digging for them.
