Taking photos on rides...

If the camera came out of your hands (on a roller coaster styleeee type ride) and it fell onto the track, would it de-rail the 'train'? I thought there was a no photography sign on these rides?? Or is that just a caustion abou the flash annoying people???

my camera has a strap on it that i could have really tight around my wrist, if it didn't have that theres no way i would have a camera out on any ride in case it hurt someone

It wouldn't de-rail the train - it would take a lot more than a camera to cause that.

The bigger risk would be dropping it onto somebody below. It's not such a risk on BTM, but if you were unlucky and dropped it while you were upside down on SM, then it could theoretically fall and hit somebody.

Just had to ask! I think I watch final destination 3 too much!

I took my camcorder on BTM and got the whole ride on video, I forgot to look at the screen at times as I was to busy enjoying myself, and got more of the womens head infront. Luckily she had clean hair.

Thats what I do too. I would only do it with my small kodak digital camera, not with my DSLR which has a neck strap.

I'm glad you like my avatar torsie, BUT [shhhh]...it's not SM and I didn't take it myself.

The ride is actually Hulk coaster from Universal's Islands of Adventure.

We visited Orlando in 2005 and that ride blew me away . It's launch is a million times better than SM2. It's longer, faster, more powerful, doesn't slow down at the top and it goes straight into a cobra roll outside.

I wouldn't take a photo from an extreme ride anyway...you've just got to experience it the way indended.
