Taking photos on rides?

My humble apologies if this has already been answered- I did a search but didn't see anything-

I've seen a lot of great photos on the boards taken on different rides, but I can never get mine to come out! I'm talking rides that move, but aren't dark (ie Small World, Winnie the Pooh), taking photos with no flash. My photos always turn out blurry. Any tips?

Unfortunately even rides with this much (this little?) light require a camera that can use a high ISO and a fast lens, typically a dSLR. Most (if not all) P&S cameras will have too slow a shutter speed and the images will have motion blur.

Take a look at the EXIF information that is attached to the image, if it shows a shutter speed of slower than 1/15 second that is probably the culprit.
Some P&S cameras can be set to ISO higher than 400 and these may give decent images on the rides you mentioned.

If I missed it and you have a dSLR set it to ISO 1600 or 3200 and use a f1.8 lens wide open, the images should be almost free of motion blur (not including Tigger's 'bouncy, bouncy' part). :)
