Taking off for BLT in 5 hours...

Have a great trip. i once surprised our DD with a 3 night Disney cruise she didn't figure it out until we drove east out of the airport. It is harder now because she is a freshman at IWU in Bloomington.....did you fly Air Tran? We do Southwest out of Indy, but since she is there the Bloomington airport might be an option.

Enjoy, we had that same view from the 8th floor before our June DCL criuse....loved it.

We have flown AT out of BMI many times, but flew Delta this time because we got an awesome price. Both have quite a few flights going out of BMI to MCO, most through ATL. Delta does run a couple of their flights through Detroit (DTW), and AT has one direct flight to MCO at different times of the year - used to love that one leaving the house and touching down in FL in 3 hours later.

It's hard to beat going out of BMI for us - the airport is not even 5 minutes from our house, free parking, super easy regional airport to get through (I think there might be 8 gates, but only 4 of them are used) - we always get there under an hour before the flight and are plenty early for the flight. And with Delta and AT there are an abundance of MCO flights to pick from.

Well, we're back in the real world now for a couple of months (1BR BCV in Oct for my Bday).

Sunday we did the BLT pool for a while, but it was getting a little crowded. So went over to the CT pool - which we liked better. The slide was better than BLT (faster, and smoother - you can feel the seams in the BLT slide when you go down on your back), the pool was larger, and it wasn't as busy.

We finally made it over to the CT a few times, and got to walk the new skybridge floor. For those that haven't been on it, I would describe it as a small pebble-y surface - kind of like a really rough grit sandpaper (not gritty like sandpaper though). I walked on it after rain and in the morning dew and didn't slide around any. The CT "patio" on the 4th floor was closed though - it looks like they put down the same surface out there too, but it was blocked off from going out on it.

Also, it did seem like the door from the CT was requiring the key to open. But I only had to use my key once, as the door was usually open from someone else coming or going. One day it was pretty windy and the doors wouldn't close automatically - the wind was holding them open.

So we stayed 4 nights in the cramped BLT studio, and we did just fine. I can stand by my early observations, we found it to be about like a regular hotel room - it was okay for the 3 of us. The kitchenette/sink combo never proved to be a problem. And I finally figured out what what people talk about when they talk about the gap in the bathroom door - didn't even notice it until about the last day and it didn't bother us. Sure, we'll do a 1BR more often because it's nice to have the extra room. But I could see us going studio here and there if we're short on points or want to go more often than 1BR points would allow.

Sounds like a great trip.

We are going on our first DVC trip in March 2011. I initially thought of a studio but from what I have read we scheduled a 1BD. There will be four of us, two adults and two children ages 4 adn 7.

Thanks for the info.

We were at BLT August 24-27 in a studio with me, DH, DS15 and DD14. While the rooms seem very small, it was fine for 3 days. We loved being able to walk to the MK. I requested a Lake View and received more of a marina/Contemporary pool view with a partial lake view.

What we didn't like is the pocket door on the bathroom - if you close it too hard, it bounces back open about 6 inches. The pool is rather small too, but I won the Disney trivia contest one afternoon there so I have positive feelings about it. That same day I overheard a number of people say that they came over from the Contemporary pool because "someone left a Baby Ruth in the pool" (his words, not mine). The pool was closed the rest of the day - I could see it from my room, looking sad and lonely.

We also went to the observation deck to view Wishes but do you think people could be quiet and just enjoy the show? Between screaming kids, inebriated guests and folks talking on their "yell phones", it was less than magical.

What a great birthday trip for your DD. One she will sure remember :thumbsup2
