Taking my nieces back to WDW and on DCL! *5/9 Excursion time!

Yay! That's so exciting, you have so much coming up!

I am glad they have Fantasmic scheduled for your birthday now, that's going to be so nice. :)

And I want pictures of the scrapbook when you're done!!!

Yay! That's so exciting, you have so much coming up!

and.... and... and...

A day after I posted my last update? We got an email from the GF concierge to introduce themselves, say they were there if wanted any assistance, etc! So fun!

I am glad they have Fantasmic scheduled for your birthday now, that's going to be so nice. :)

And do you know what that also means...? I'm thinking it means birthday milkshake and smores and dinner at 50's PTC! :rotfl: How the heck I never went to 50's PTC before my last trip is a mystery to me.

And I want pictures of the scrapbook when you're done!!!

Will do! Except I want to show it to the nieces before I show anyone else... so probably not til Jan 1. ;)

All I really really wanted for my birthday trip was to eat breakfast at CRT on my birthday. I got up at 6am (well, set my alarm for 5:55 and finally got up around 6:10; record quick for me :rotfl:), got ready to snag my CRT reservation.... and.... and... NOTHING!

Wha....?! I kept trying online... I asked on the phone... mom called the GF concierge. (and apparently stopped just short of bribing them to find something ) Nothing, zilch, zero. Eventually I figured out that nothing was showing online for CRT for 3/16-3/20 for any meal at any time. But plenty of availability on 3/15. That really doesn't seem right to me, so stay tuned... I will have to keep trying.

Beyond that, I got everywhere I wanted. Including some places I didn't know I wanted. But now I do. :rotfl: Thanks to a post here on the Dis so I knew to call for Le Cellier when there was nothing online for dinner; thinking it is a bug with LC switching to 2 TS credits for dinners.

So without further ado, here's where things stand right now...

Breakfast:
Celebrating the fact that I am still a kid at heart :cheer2:
1.1900 Park Fare
2.'Ohana
(both new to me for breakfast, though I've done dinner at both)

Dinners:
Celebrating the 4 continents I will have traveled to by the time of my birthday ... :cool1:
1. Le Cellier (a staple; curious about the promised new signature dinner menu)
2. Via Napoli (new to me)
3. Tokyo Dining (new to me)
4. Jiko (new to me)

Celebrating the fact that I am staying at the Grand Floridian...
5. Citricos (new to me)
6. Narcoosees (new to me)

Celebrating my birthday with a PB&J shake and smores... :yay:
7. 50's Prime Time Cafe (tried for the first time on my last trip and an instant staple)

And I will get a CRT breakfast reservation on my birthday. I refuse to believe that it won't happen. :goodvibes

Quoting myself because... I am now the proud owner of reservations to eat at the castle for breakfast on my birthday!!!! 8:05am, before park opening- perfect time.

party:

I guess the dates for CRT get loaded at really random times, because I've checked periodically all day and they still had nothing, zero, zilch until just now. :confused3 So I'm all set- until I inevitably decide to try to juggle some dates and times as the trip gets closer. :rotfl:

That's so exciting! I'm glad you were able to get everything, and having just recently tried the PB&J shake, I can tell you I definitely approve of them! :)

Thanks! How's CP going?

I got a happy surprise at work today- a raise! Am excited at the possibilities this will help enable for next summer's trip with the girls! :rotfl:

Count me in! Loved reading your last ptr and tr, so I can't imagine reading the adventures leading up to and on your next two trips would be any less enjoyable! I just about finished up my nephew's scrapbook finally too! BTW-you left out major details on fb about both trips! Guess it got me on board here though!

No trip for us this year :sad2:, but its because we're saving to buy a house. :goodvibes Which I think would make a Disney trip all the better afterwards, being able to come home to our own house!!!

Speaking of, it looks like we're heading back at the end of next September! :cool1: As we get it booked I may start a ptr this time around.

Well I can't post much about the nieces' trip on Facebook considering there's lots of people I don't want to know about it yet. ;) (although I do tend to filter entries about their trip so that family can't see it)

Also don't want to bore most of my friends who aren't disney addicts. :)

Congrats on buying a house! Hope you do have a ptr this time as I'd love to read it. :)

If I had to decide it today... only my older niece would be coming to Disney. :P Younger one was being a brat yesterday and got left home from the zoo (as will be pretty obvious when I post photos on Facebook with only 1 niece) I almost never ask them to do anything, yet when I asked her to clean her cats' litter box (which is, ummm, her usual chore..), she got all drama queen and refused me multiple times. Really?!? I'm the aunt who spends so much time and energy trying to do fun stuff for you (not to mention money) and you're gonna sulk and whine that everyone always tells you what to do?!? Well, ok, I won't tell you to do anything next summer because you will be at home. ;) (she somehow blamed her mood on her older sister...)

Hopefully her behavior will improve, because I really want to take both of them. But I still didn't get an apology last night at all. So we will see what happens...

Kids! Having adults tell you what to do is part of the deal! Hopefully she will get over it. I've noticed that preteens spew just as much attitude as teens themselves. Not fair for those of us that have to deal with it!

1. Went to Kenya last month which was A+ amazing! :cool1:

2. Got back from Kenya and had to put down my 15 yr old cat, Belle (who is the inspiration for my screen name here). :( She'd gotten really sick last December but the vets did some miracles and so I was blessed with her for 10 more months. She had so much love and so much spirit and she was such a feisty little fighter... until finally she was just struggling and not enjoying life. She was a very special cat and I miss her dearly.

3. Despite just coming back from vacation recently... all the angst with Belle made me feel like I need a vacation. So I just decided to spend Christmas at Disneyland! :santa: LOL, I'm sure it will be insane... but it will surely be better than sitting at home alone.

4. Birthday trip is fast approaching. May try to hit a Phillies spring training game... ;)

5. I need to start getting back to my scrapbook to show my nieces over new years eve; I'd planned to finish it up over Christmas but, umm, not going to happen if I am at Disneyland then. :lmao:

Yeah, so I began this PTR with 1 DCL/WDW trip planned... and now I've added another WDW trip and a DL trip before that even gets here. :rotfl:

You really are staying busy!

I'm sorry to hear about Belle - that is a very difficult decision to make. I do hope that the Disneyland trip can help ease your mind. I would love to go to Disneyland some day, but right now (obviously) it's easier to go to Walt Disney World.

Thx. I was just happy she fought through being at the kennel and was still there for me when I got back; the day before my trip she was pretty bad... When I got home, she was down to 3.2 lbs and she seemed to have lost her leg muscles while she was in a cage for 12 days, so it was not hard to make the decision. I just miss her so much! :sad1: I adopted her 15 yrs ago, right about when I got my 1st apt... so she was my baby for my whole adult life... and she was the BEST cat ever, in my totally biased opinion.

Forgot to mention that since we finally just got our 2009 bonus at work... I'm splurging and staying at the Grand Californian at DL! I've stayed at Disney hotels in Tokyo, Paris, HK and obviously WDW... so it's time I stay at one in DL.

How's the CP going? Haven't heard much in awhile...

It's been busy, but I have been having fun. I went to the preview of the Christmas parade last night, and tonight I am going to see the Osbourne Lights! Work is fine - we keep breaking down (because we keep the conditions so safe, the ride shuts itself down if it thinks anything is amiss, which happens a lot.), so there is a lot of standing outside and spieling about it being down.

Overall, I'm glad I am down here, even if I am not too fond of my roommates.

Oh no! What's wrong with your roommates? That stinks. But glad you're still having fun. :) It's Disney- it has to be fun. ;)

So I've been maniacally checking for March 2011 discounts ever since we first planned my birthday trip. I saw other people getting PIN codes, and kept getting bummed to not have one in any of my email inboxes. I knew the last batch of discounts had to be reserved by yesterday so I was hoping hoping hoping for new discounts today...

So I woke up, checked mousesavers.com and said "YES!" :cool1: But my mom had to call... so I sat on pins and needles all day. Which is rather comical since, umm, I'm not even paying. :lmao:

End result? We tried to get the AP discount, but no! (booooo) But we got the general public discount which adds up to a pretty nice chunk of change since we're staying GF RPC concierge. So, yay! :rotfl:

(meanwhile I just paid off my crazy Christmas at DL trip)

Glad you found a discount! We are looking to book our trip for next September this weekend to take advantage of free dining and are hoping for a 30% or a 40% pin code in the meantime!

Good luck! Let me know when you book because I totally want to hear all about your trip too. :)

I still need to get a code for Aug for the trip with the nieces. Finally told them about my birthday trip on thanksgiving- well, actually my mom was talking about it. She was talking about some of our plans, and their faces lit up every time I mentioned someplace I'd been with them and asked them if they remembered it. i.e.

Mom: "Where are we going on your birthday dinner?"
Me: "50's PTC... remember, that's the one where we had the yummy milkshakes... and I had the PB&J one?"\
J: "Oh YEAH! They were gooooood!"

Just over 1 month til New Years. Which means 1 month til I tell the nieces about the trip! :rotfl: I told them about the 2009 trip on NYE 2009, so I wanted to do the same- it's a good time to tell them.

But the question was: How will I tell them?

In 2009, I gave them invitations. Which I'm sure they lost, since they're kids. (I printed extra copies for the scrapbook) That was a cute idea... but did I want to do it again?

I planned to show them the 2009 scrapbook to get them excited. I've already done the last page as a "Happily Ever After" page.

But I decided to add a few pages, and last night I actually made them. :)

Facing the "Happily Ever After" (probably with a blank/solid color page in between) will be a page that pretty simply says "Make a Wish.." with a tiny little Tinkerbell graphic. even though I kinda don't like Tinkerbell.

Flip the page and then there will be a 2 page layout decorated with stickers such as a parasail, Bahamas, Florida, and of course a large ship (to which I pasted a Mickey shaped jewel). The first page has stickers that say "Once Upon a Disney Vacation", only the once is crossed out and there are stickers spelling out "Twice" above it; at the end are the words "the seaquel" (which is a pun I ripped off of Hershey Park's water park) The 2nd page reads "Coming soon to a summer near you" and "2011"

Meanwhile... I have my Christmas insanity at DL all planned out! :rotfl:

That is so cute! I think they'll love it!

You really got into the scrapbooking! :rotfl: Meanwhile, I haven't done it for months since I've been away.

You'll have to let us know how it goes in a month!
