Taking my love to Disneyland for the first time

Ken and I are headed to Disneyland in January for the first time for him...we are staying at Grand California Villas. . .a first for both of us.

Disneyland is my old stomping ground. . .Cant wait to show him my homeland. . .should have great pics. . .any suggestions?

Oh I love DL! I'm going back in December after my solo trip to WDW! Here are my tips:

Goofy's Kitchen. Sooo good and there's lots of characters there. I saw Goofy, Mickey, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Belle, and Brer Rabbit. Don't worry that they won't come over if there are no kids at your table. I think we (hubby and I) got a lot of attention there because we didn't have any kids at our table!

Gotta ride Splash Mountain, IASW, and POTC. Be sure to take him to A Bug's Life ride. It's scarier in DL than in WDW! Hmmm..Honey I shrunk the Audience is fun. Oh! Me and Kenny loved the Muppets too! Toy Story Mania is fun too.

What about a spa day? GCH has a spa I think. Be sure to get a ressie at Napa Rose....it's to die for!

I would suggest taking a break from DL and going to Universal just to see Citywalk! It's really cool and there's a lot to do there! Lots of good restaurants like Hard Rock.

I spent most of my life about 20 minutes from Disneyland. I can't wait to show him my home town and let him see the original through my eyes. We will probably do Blue Bayou cause ya just gotta when you go and then just enjoy the parks. No Universal. . .don't really care for that.

yes have to do Blue Bayou . You should talk to JohnEric since his first trip was when we went a couple weeks ago. I know he was excited to try all the unique Disney rides...Mr. Toad, Alice, Monsters Inc., Indiana Jones. But you also have all the classics that are different in ways...Small World, Toon Town, Splash, Pirates, etc.

We always eat at Goofy's Kitchen...I kind of like that you never know what characters will be there and the food is good. There is that cool outside bar in the middle of DTD, keep meaning to stop there but haven't yet. The weather was kind of bad this last trip to sit outside much. If you go there let me know how it is.

Do not forget to ride Indiana Jones as many times as possible! My favorite ride of ALL the Disney parks...but it's only at DL.

Amy, the UV Bar is great. I love that place, though I don't know any of the bartender's names like I do at WDW. . .lol.
