I've always had at least one other person with me on trips but this will be my FIRST solo trip! I'm so excited! I don't think I could have done solo if I hadn't read this forum and saw others do it too.

Trying to decide where I want to eat and make some ADRs. I love characters but am hesitant to book those meals since there will be no one to photograph for me. I've always had problems getting someone to take a photo of 2 people together in the past and ended up just taking separate photos of each other. Yes, we have asked neighboring tables and have been declined. Have you had any issues?

Any other restaurants that you particularly like being solo? Breakfast/lunch/dinner preferences?

Any other advice at all?

Can't wait - 45 days to go! :cool1:

Me too! :thumbsup2

I made reservations for Rose & Crown (Illumination viewing) and booked myself into a Fantasmic package. I did not book any character dining either. Though, I may reconsider for 1900 Park Fare; I'm not sure yet. I may go and see the play in NYC.

I did not do any breakfast or lunch dining, since I didn't want to be too scheduled. There are some threads about solo dining and people who have replied to me said both those restaraunts were good.

For the Photographs, you can also do the Photopass. I'm not sure about that yet either. :confused3 I'm not sure that I want to document going alone to Disney. :rolleyes1

I think I have 45 days to go as well. Whoo-hooo! :moped:

Hi! :wave2:

I also have a solo trip coming up in March and was also wondering which table service restaurants were the most accommodating to solo diners.

I would prefer somewhere with a bar area that serves food. I was thinking about Jiko, Flying Fish, or California Grill? It seems like I've seen several solo dining reports where those restaurants gave consistently good service to solo diners.

i have heard others say that they told the character they wanted a photo with them and the character handed the camera to someone at a neighboring table. no one refuses a character!

People actually wouldn't take your photo for you??? I'm flabbergasted that people would be so rude. I can't imagine saying no to somebody asking me that. I'm always so happy to help out like that.

I'll be there March 4-11th at ASMo.

I'm actually doing at least 1 sit down meal each day...mainly breakfast (brekkie is my fav meal of the day!). I'm also doing alot of character meals because as my personal goal for this trip, I'm trying to get at least 50 pictures with at least 20 different characters through the week.

My biggest thing is about eating alone (I ordinarily HATE it). So I'm planning to take a book/journal and do some reading or writing while I eat (not at character meals obviously). And, I plan to take LOADS of pics to post on the DIS!!

When are the rest of y'all going to be there in March??

Srsly??? I can't imagine telling someone I wouldn't take a picture for them. Hopefully I'll only meet nice people when I go.

.....just came back from WDW / DCL (01-07-09 thru 01-1-09) for the very 1st time and yes...I even offered to take some pictres for some people & they declined! :confused3
I didn't have anyone refuse to take my picture (solo traveler) be it by myself or with a character.
Feel free to pm me and or read my trip report (listed under Disney Cruise line "Trip reports" section of the Disboards website) if ya wanna talk and or have any ?'s.

Sad to hear that their are people refuses to help for a second. I'm always willing to help and take a picture for anyone, it's just a little favor, right.

Anyway, a have a nice a safe trip everyone. :)

Have a great trip - I just got back from a one week solo (see my TR "Solo trippie - living through 4 seasons at Disney"). I always had nice cast members take pictures for me since I was on my own, especially for character greetings - just hand them your camera. And if I saw anyone taking pictures of each other, I would offer to take one of them together, and they would happily take one of just me afterwards.
Have fun - I had the best time, enjoyed every minute of it. Any table service meals I did, I always had a book to read or my journal to write - never once did I feel uncomfortable on my own. :goodvibes
