Hi - I was wondering if I buy some cartons of Horizon Milk, can I take it on board as part of luggage?

I have a toddler who drinks in the middle of the night, do they have milk available that can be stored in the rooms?

Thanks

Not sure what Horizon Milk is, but you will not be able to bring aboard a cooler or ice, so I don't know how you will keep it cold before you bring it aboard. If it's shelf-stable packaged milk you can carry it aboard in your carry-on.

You can get single serving milk cartons in the buffet. Don't recall if they have any whole milk.

Horizon Milk does not have to be refrigerated which is why a lot of Moms use it when traveling. You can bring Two of the small containers with you through security if you have a young toddler. The same rules apply as with using premade formula for infants. Pack 2 in your carryon and put a couple in your luggage for the return trip. That said Starbucks and McDonalds sell milk containers you can purchase after security and most of the newspaper places have water too. Milk is available on board when asked so don't worry about that. Hope this helps!

Like any other beverage, you can bring as much of it onboard in your carry on as you would like to lug around. Please don't put it in checked luggage. The buffet has small cartons of milk in a cooler every morning, so it would be no problem to grab several to put in your room fridge. You will also get milk in a cup with lid and straw at dinner - you can always ask for a refill before the end of dinner and pop that in the fridge, too.

Milk is available 24x7 by the drink stations. There are fridges/cooling boxes on the rooms, so you could get a cup or glass and keep it there thru the night.

Unless 'Horizon' is a special type of milk...

Thanks! That's basically what was my concern, to pack it in a box and take it as luggage, but i guess that is not an option.

Horizon is just organic milk, my young one goes through three of her bottles during the night alone, hence I guess i will have to pick up those milk packs at the ship or ask for them.

i hope they have the whole milk option as someone mentioned

Hi Joogle,

I also am unsure as to what Horizon milk is, but I just got off the Dream with my 3 & 5 y.o. grand princesses who only drink goat's milk. I called DCL ahead of time re: taking a carton on board. They said no problem IF:

It MUST be a sealed (unopened) carton & USDA approved, and we must (as said previously) carry it on. So I took a small cooler bag with "blue ice" frozen, and put it in my carry on tote. The little cooler box in the staterooms kept it nicely cold for them.

There are many reasons why they do not allow such items to be packed into checked luggage, all of them good ones! :thumbsup2

And yes, there are a variety of milk types onboard you can either pick up at Cabanas, or order via room service. I am sure they have whole milk, as they seemed to have skim, 1% (I was surprised they had the 1%, seems like they used to only have skim, 2% & whole), 2% & whole milk. Give DCL a call to ease your mind. :)

The had whole milk on the fantasy in cartons at breakfast. I would bet you probably can get it from room service too - ask when you board or just go ask at dining if you can take a bunch and stock your fridge.

Do they have Soy Milk and Soy Cheese on board? Or Mott's for Tots? Taking Grandson in August and he has to have soy products. He also loves apple juice and regular apple juice has as much sugar as soda. Mom let's him have one Mott's for Tots per day. Thanks.

I'm fairly sure they have soy milk - they had tofutti (soy) ice cream in cabanas, so I can't imagine they don't have soy milk.

They do not have motts for tots, but you can get regular apple juice and cut it with water. That's all the motts stuff is anyways.

My daughter is *very* particular about milk; she only drinks chocolate milk and hates the chocolate milk on the ships for some reason. She will drink the Horizon UHT chocolate milk, though, so I brought several packs in my rolling carry on when we sailed on the Magic. I put it in the fridge and gave it to her in the afternoons or if we had room service deliver breakfast. I didn't try to take it to the dining rooms, though. And while you can have room service deliver cartons of milk, I don't really trust the "beverage coolers" to keep them sufficiently cold. With the long shelf life milks, I don't have to worry!
