Taking Little Miss to Meet the Mouse! ~ A May 2015 PTR ~ Trip Report Link Posted!!

Wow that santa experience is awesome. I hope they do that next year because I will definitely go to the one near Chicago. We had to pay $35 and got none of that good stuff. I love your ideas for movie nights. Do you come up with these ideas yourself? I think I need to start getting creative. Last trip I just showed movies but a theme night sounds fun.

I mostly do it myself, but I have been collecting ideas into one big document for a while. There is a whole thread somewhere here on the boards for themed movie nights. I made a list of movies I knew I would want included and then added the meal ideas as I thought of them.

Some I stick to the ideas on the list. Some (Like Shrek night that wasn't on the list) I think up on the fly. I try not to over think them, but they are pretty fun and a nice way to slip either a culture lesson or discussion about what to expect on our trip in.

I can't remember if I've commented before or not, but I just wanted to say that I'm reading and following along!

You picked a great time to go to WDW, in my opinion. The F&G is a beautiful sight to see, the crowds aren't terrible, and the heat hasn't reached unbearable temps yet. And being in MK on Mother's Day...well, there's nothing like it. It's the best gift you could give yourself. :lmao:

Hi there! :welcome: Yeah, I'm living vicariously through your TR till May. I'm really looking forward to it.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I'm just sitting here at 9:15 waiting for Little Miss to stir. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I think my little odd ball is the only kid that has to be woken up on Christmas Morning!

Hope you all have a magical Christmas!

I need to start training for Disney. While I'm not overweight in the least, I am at my lifetime highest weight (not counting pregnancy) thanks to this years holidays.:rolleyes1 I'm determined to get down 5 or so pounds and get into shape. Were you able to keep your Disney training going through the holidays?

Your movie nights are super creative.

My ankle issues have been flaring a bit lately so I have slipped a bit in my training. I need to get myself back into it. A key for me though is I don't focus on weight. I focus on my endurance. That is what will make the difference at wdw.

Thanks about the movie nights. I need to get around to doing the next one but things keep getting in the way.

Just a quick note for those that are following along and going at the same time....

THE SPRING DISCOUNTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED! And they seem to be decent. good luck with the site though.

Depending on what numbers my TA gets back to me with, we now have 3 options we are looking at:

1) Staying with plans as they are and taking the discount.

2) Switching back to POR but booking a Royal Room (something I've been wanting for a while)

3) Switching to AoA and doing a Family Suite.

Anyone with thoughts on these ideas? Because from the start I have really liked Option 2 and 3 but neither were really in budget. With the discounts making them very close to reach I truly am not sure which way to go! :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

In the mean time I will just be stalking MDE and my phone waiting to hear back from my TA. :surfweb:

I've not done either, but I am not a fan of the values. I would definitely go with POR Royal Room if it is near that budget. I think those rooms look quite lovely.

Where are we staying? - ROUND 3!

Okay, never would I have thought that I would be changing my mind this much about where we will stay! When I last checked in I was waiting to hear back from our Travel Agent. The new discounts had come out and the prices were great! We now had three options on the consideration block to decide from.

After some talking and consideration DH and I decided that while the extra space in the family suites would be nice that’s also just more space that things can be scattered and lost. Also there is the added consideration that when it comes down to it DH and I just are not comfortable leaving Little Miss to sleep in the main room where the door is by herself. Maybe in a few years that would be worth considering again.

So that brought us back to POR or CBR. After some initial looking I decided that if we were to switch back to POR I would want to spring for the Royal Room. This would guarantee us an elevator, bring us closer to the main building and on a bit of a selfish note I just REALLY want to stay in a Royal Room. It’s a bucket list item.

As far as CBR was concerned, because they haven’t done the Renovations on the Preferred Rooms yet I knew I didn’t want to risk booking one of those. The other room upgrades available are pretty pointless so It was down to standard view at CBR or a Royal Room at POR.

So where did we end up for the FINAL (I Hope! LOL) switch up of the rooms?

Royal Room it is!!! party::cool1::banana::yay::cheer2::dance3::woohoo: The best part… We are still saving $70 off of our original standard view quote! To say I’m REALLY excited is a bit of an understatement.

That's fantastic!!! Congrats on scoring a royal room for your trip. Those rooms look absolutely gorgeous. And the added perks of an elevator and closer proximity really add to the excitement. Glad you could get it!

(And, on a side note, I didn't even think about having to leave a toddler alone with the resort door in AoA. That could be a really bad thing!!)

Yeah we didn't either at first. Hence why when the price dropped it was on the seriously considering it list. Once we really thought about what that would mean we just couldn't do it. Especially because the murphy bed that is closest to the master is RIGHT at the door. Like open the door and BAM! there. Little Miss is just too developmentally advanced for that. Add in her height and well.... I've already had to nail her bedroom window shut because I found hair doodles ON THE ROOF :scared1: Just think what kind of chaos she could come up with with so much in that space! It Little Miss Waltzing out of her room when she was supposed to be napping while was DH pointing out how easy the top bars are to undo that we decided to rule out the family suites till she's at least 5-6.

Having the Elevator is going to help huge! And think of the added fun! (I'm sure you wouldn't have any idea about that! :rotfl2:)

Don't you just love it when you get a good deal on something you really want?!? It's like Christmas all over again.

My exact thoughts this afternoon! Except its even better because I had resigned myself to thinking it wouldn't be in the cards.

Yay :cool1: for your discount. I am so happy you got what you really wanted. I couldn't believe the discount for this spring, it was much better than I was hoping for. It is so funny that you went with POR because I was trying so hard to decide between CBR and POR and when I heard only royal rooms were left I went with CBR.

It was a bit of a tough choice. The guarantee of elevators is what sealed it for us I think. At least thats how I was able to justify it to DH! :lmao:

Congrats on your resort re-switch! My 9yo DD and I have been wanting to stay in a Royal Room for a couple of years, but with 4 kids, we would need 2 rooms and that just isn't in the cards. I hope your princess loves it!
