Taking food off ship to MCO?

I know we can not take unsealed food (not packaged) off the ship when stopping in foreign ports but what about disembarking in FL? I would like to put a few muffins or something in zip locks for snacking at the airport. Will it be allowed through customs? Thanks!

It will not be allowed through customs. All food must be factory sealed coming off the boat.

There is even a video playing on the ship's information channel the last couple of days that explain the disembarkation process. In the video, the cruise director talks about the importance of having breakfast before you leave so you will not be tempted to try and take food off with you. If you are worried about this taking too much time, the express walk-off passengers were able to disembark at 7:30. We had breakfast at 6:45. We ate at a leisurely pace and took pictures with our servers. We then walked off the ship at about 8:00. The lines were not very long. We got through customs and we were on our bus to the airport at 8:30.

Never play games with Customs rules the fines can be extremely high, like as much as $50,000.

They can make the IRS look like nice guys!

Ironically, it's likely that all the food on the ship came from the U.S. in the first place, but Customs doesn't know that. The rules are in place to protect U.S. Agriculture. Would you want to be responsible for a blight in a U.S. crop that destroys someone's livelihood? I wouldn't That banana or muffin or ham sandwich just isn't worth it, because U.S. Customs is quite clear on this point. But to be sure, just look up the U.S. Customs website and you'll know what you can and can not import (that's what you are doing) into the U.S. There may be some things that are allowed.
