Taking DGS (5) to WDW- Looking for Suggestions

First of all, I have been to Disney many times as has my DGS who is 5. However, my husband and I will be taking him to WDW this June by ourselves for the first time.We are DVC members and will be staying at the new Poly DVC studios. Looking for suggestions on things to do that will make the trip fun and special. He is a huge Star Wars fan so we have booked the Star Wars breakfast at Sci Fi. Most of the park time will be just me and DGS so we can move about pretty easily. We both have PAPs so we can park hop if we want. He's pretty much done with the princesses, so more adventurous activities are what we are looking for. Thought about Hoop-Dee-Do? A half day at a water park? We did the pirate fireworks cruise already. Any suggestions are welcomed.

If he's really into Star Wars you'll want to do the Jedi Training Academy.

I've never been but was thinking my DS (same age) would enjoy Whispering Canyon Cafe for a meal.

Our grandson loved Hoop Dee Doo when he was five. He was laughing at the jokes and antics and it was a fun evening.

We liked breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom. The characters are fun and there wasn't a princess in sight.

If you want something different you can go over to Fort Wilderness. They have pony rides for young kids. You can explore the stables or go over there later in the evening for the Chip and Dale sing along.

Your grandson would probably love spending a lot of time in the pool. He would probably be happy with just the Volcano pool if you don't want to to take him to a water park. I'm sure he will love the Poly pool slide.

When mine were that little, they would spend hours (if we let them) at the train garden in Germany. Same could be said for the aquarium in FW.

Flights of Wonder at Animal Kingdom. After the show, stick around and kids of all ages can go up to the stage (not on it) and see some of the birds up close. Also at Animal Kingdom, Rafiki's Planet Watch. The train ride is cool (not a normal train as all seats are benches and face to the side so different. And then take your time going back to Conservation Station and see the exhibits on the trail. Once at the Station, take your time with the exhibits and then go outside, grab some brushes or just use your hand and pet the pigs, the goats, and the sheep. Hand washing stations are provided. If you get there early, there could be a vet procedure going on.

The Agent P adventure at World Showcase at Epcot. Visiting all the Kidspots in each country.
