Taking boys to Cinderella's breakfast?

Hi Everyone,
My 4 yr old son has a love/hate relationship with the princesses. He goes from "Yuck, she's a girl and I'll run the other way!" to "Princess Jasmine - I get a kick out of her! She turns my eyes to hearts and makes my heart beat out of my chest!" (I think he's seen one too many love-struck cartoon characters).

Anyway, the other day I teased him that I'd take him and his baby brother to Cinderella's breakfast at the castle (CRT I think?) and I'd ask all the princesses to kiss him. Well now he's warmed up to the idea and keeps asking about it...

Have any of you taken just boys to this character meal, and did they enjoy it? Do the princesses kiss the kids and do any princes come around too?

Thanks,
Linda

We've taken our Ds to CRT 3 times- his sister IS a princess you know! ;)
The first time he was an infant. The next time he was 2 1/2- LOVED LOVED LOVED it! He ran up to all the princesses and struck up conversation- the longest with Belle trying to find out where Beast was (she was very good!). All the princesses fell in love with him and declared him 'their' real prince. The all gave him lipstick kisses. Now, the next year, he was 3 1/2. He did not particularly care for it- what a difference a year makes! The princesses kinda tested the waters to see how he would react. He would not get his picture taken with Belle- she left him alone when he said no. They were all good about it. Cinderella asked if he would join her in a picture, he said no- but joined in the picture once she posed with DD. At PSB, Mulan really played it up and tricked him into getting a kiss on the head- he loved it but says he doesn't like her- as he grins. We've never seen a prince there- though I have heard of Peter Pan appearing every once in a while. I say go for it. The princesses handle boys very well. DS will be going again next year and he already says he doesn't want to eat there- but DD insists so we'll see...

We took our kids DDalmost 5 and DS2 1/2 to the princess lunch in Norway. We figured this character meal would be all about DD, but DS loved it every bit as much! Our upcoming trip we scheduled this meal again because both kids loved it so much and DH and I loved the food. I never would have thought of doing a princess meal if we only had boys, but I'd definitely recommend it to others!

We've taken my brother to the princess breakfasts twice, once at Cinderella's Royal Castle and once in the Norway Pavillion at Epcot. He loved it both times, getting all sorts of attention and kisses from the girls. The first time he wouldn't let go of Belle., and last time he was CRAZY about Snow White, who gave him a big kiss and kept coming back to give him hugs.
I can't wait to take him back next year!

Yep, little boys get LOADS of attention from the pretty princesses! I have some of the sweetest pictures of my sons getting smooched and hugged by various princesses. My oldest is now 7 and "pretends" to think they are yucky, but his face lights up when they call him Prince Zane and plant kisses on his cheek!

Thanks for all your replies...sounds like I'll be one of the people calling at 6:59AM sometime soon...now I just need to schedule a trip.

We took my six year old nephew and my four year old niece to the Storybook dinner recently. My nephew enjoyed it very much. Prior to going to the dinner, he insisted that he did not want to meet any princesses (he did not know we were scheduled for the dinner) but once we told him we were going he was fine with it. He especially liked meeting Jasmine. She came back at the end of the meal and asked him if he would draw her a picture for her castle. He was very happy about that.

As a mom of 2 boys, I reccommend you do it now. NOW! before he's 10 and sulking and diving for cover when they come to the table. It was a big downer when I finally said, "darnit, Im a girl and I wanna go" to have my oldest act that way.

I was actually a little disappointed in how little attention my DS6 got when my best friend and I took him for breakfast in November. It started off sort as a joke when we couldn't decide where to have breakfast and ended up becoming a crusade on my part when my son cried after I couldn't get reservations. Last minute cancellation to the rescue, and we were in!

My son had his "you're so beautiful I would fight ______ for you" thing all ready for each princess who visited the table but ended up getting just one kiss from Snow White. I did get a cute picture of Cinderella laughing at him telling her he would fight her stepmother.

Anyhow, I'd say try it. Maybe you'll have a great day where all the princesses will swoon over your boys. Being upstairs in the castle is special enough anyhow! Good luck with the reservations.

My DS is four and we have ressies to CRT and I and my neice (30) are excited as can be. If he likes it great, but if he doesn't that's ok too. Because both of us girls want to see the castle and the princesses since we never had the chance to do it when we were young princesses. I bought both of us tiaras for christmas (dollar store) and I will suprise her with it on the morning of the breakfast. And i have no doubt he will get tons and tons or kisses because he is just too cute. I'll let you all know what he thinks :earsgirl:

We took DS this past fall (he was 2 1/2) since he has an obsession with the castle- we thought he would like to eat inside of it.

To say he loved it is the biggest understatement in the world! He would have sat on Cinderella's lap all day if we would have let him. And when Aurora showed up he pronounced that she was his favorite  . The only one he didn't care for was Peter Pan...

I say if you can get a ressie than go for it!!!! Plus the food was pretty decent :flower:

Definitely go! My then 2-year-old ds accompanied my 4.5-year-old dd. Although he didn't take away from her princess spotlight he still got tons of attention and several big lipstick "smacks", including a huge one on his forehead from Snow White which he wore the rest of the day! We all laugh looking back at the pictures--even now 7-year-old ds.

Hmm DS loves the princesses, we even had to wait the other day for Belle to show up in the garden by France so he could see her. I think I'm gonna call and get ADR's for CRT some morning and just not tell DH ( It will be mommies little secret) :)

We went to see the princesses mostly for me. ;) We went in October and my little boys were 2.5 and 16mths. The 2.5 year old slept the whole time, and the 16 mth old loved the princesses. They were actually among the few characters that Dillon didn't get scared of.

Having only ds we still booked it this past September for lunch...we were NOT disappointed. We loved it...all five of us, me being the only female. My ds were ages 4,5 and 9 and all three of them loved it (my eldest is very much in love with ALL things Disney and it didn't hurt that the princesses told him he would make an excellent prince being so tall and handsome and wonderful). We went back to MK a few times throughout our vacation and saw some of the princesses later on in the week. They remembered my boys and asked them when they would come back to have lunch in the palace again! :)

As long as your son is not in the "I hate all girls with my whole heart" stage I bet it will be fine! And if all else fails the rest of you will love it and the food is really good! :)

We went with my DS 11, DD 5 and nephew 7 & 5. The 7 yo grudgingly behaved and took a few picture. The 5 yo thought the princesses would actually be doing the cooking - he wanted to see Cinderella flip the pancakes. He was terrified of the characters for our trip but was comfortable with the princesses. He fell in love with Snow white and we had to seeek her out at the end so he could say good bye.

My favorite photo is of the 3 boys doing gangsta poses with a suit of armor on our way out.

If I had only boys and if my nephew wasn't so terrified of the big characters, I would have gone somewhere else. I doubt if we will head back with my own princess next time (she's been twice - she's done)
