Is it faster or better to take a boat vs a bus? Also, do you have to pay for the boat? When do they run and where do they take you to?

Can someone tell me how they work etc...

I've only seen people on them YEARS ago, don't remember much other than wondering about them.

I only have 4 full days, trying to squeeze it all in without wasting much time!

I would think the answer to that question would depend on where you are going to and from. Give us some more info about your trip and we'll try to help!:)

Faster? Depends on where you are and where you want to go.

Boats run from Epcot to MGM via Beach/Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin then from MGM to Epcot with stops at S/D, BW, BC/YC.

Other boats run from Magic Kingdom to Contempary, MK to Wilderness Lodge, MK to Grand Floridian & Poly.

Ferries run from Transportation Center to MK; Old Key West, Saratoga Springs and Port Orleans to Down Town Disney. An additional ferry runs from DTD Marketplace to West Side.

Buses run from all resorts to all attractions. A good rule of thumb is to plan for 30 - 60 minutes to get from where you are to where you want to go. As always, YMMV.

Some of hte boat routes are:

Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge

Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney

Epcot to MGM Studios via Beach Club and Boarwalk (no bus as well)

There have been some reported instances of boat captains giving priority to guests of resorts on the route. Generally for a quicker trip I would choose the bus over the boat unless the boat was already there or just arriving.

First are you staying onsite or off? As stated there are various boats that run to various places you can't take a boat from one place to all other places, but then you can't take one bus from one place to all other places either.
the boats are a part of the Disney transportation system and use of all of that system is included in your ticket. So no you don't pay for them.
