We are doing a split stay 2/7-2/11 BLT/VWL On check out day at BLT do you think they will let us take our suitcases on the boat from CR to VWL. I know bell service can do it for free, but I have heard of baggage not arriving until hours after checkin. I would prefer to take them myself. Any opinions?

Luggage is not allowed on the WDW busses so I imagine the same is true for the boats. If you want to take the luggage yourself simply walk out to the valet and get a taxi. The price for the trip from the CR to WL should be less than about $15 with tip.

They frequently use small boats on that route, it would not be practical to carry luggage. I agree, get a taxi if you want to do it yourself. It's probably less than a mile.

Transfered luggage is delivered around 3:00 PM. It's the DME luggage can be delayed for hours.

The policy is transferred luggage will not be delivered until after 3pm, ours arrived at 7pm and one piece lost.

I would always take a taxi.

I bet you could take a small carry-on with you via boat. That will allow you to have a change of clothes, pjs, shampoo, toothbrush, razor, etc.

Speak to the concierge at the Contemporary, or even ask a boat captain at the Contemporary before you transfer over.

I saw someone with a carry-on, on the monorail one time. It is a rare sight to see. The man explained that he had been at a convention at the Contemporary and that he was meeting his family at the Poly.

We have used the transfer service at least 20 times and we have always received our luggage by 4:00 PM. Check in time is 4:00 PM so we have never bothered with a carry on bag.
