Taking a rental car out of state?

Anyone know Budget’s policy on driving a rental out of state? We’re thinking of renting a minivan from them to drive from FL to Texas and back. I found a great rate with unlimited miles. Anyone know if this is allowed? I will call to verify but thought I would ask here first. Thanks!

From Budget's web site:

Can I take the vehicle out of the state in which I'm renting?
Answer: On occasion, permission for border crossing must be acquired from the rental office directly. Since specific restrictions may apply, it's always best to ask about any cross-border restrictions. Inquire either at the rental counter or, simply contact us.

Be sure to check at the exact facility you rent from! I can rent from three places locally (same company!) - and one of them does not allow out-of-state driving - the other two do.

Hello, I know that Alamo will let you take the car out of state as we just rented from them and drove from Texas to Maine and back.

Most airport locations you will not have a problem with, neighborhood and insurance replacement cars are often the more restricted, but again, it's always best to ask.

Thanks for the quick feedback. We're renting from an airport local. I'm going to call over there and see what they say.

Thanks again.
