We got bags out of Boots you fill them to the line with cold water & each bag had sterilizing tablet already in it & has pull strings to keep it closed.
DSIL says she took old ice-cream tub & her own sterilizing tablets !!

You could hire one from ABBF, your one might not work in the states due to different voltage !

We use Milton Sterilising Fluid. Just use with cold water and 15 mins later items are ready to use.

We took tablets but once there felt it was the right time to stop sterilising.

You have to some time and when you want to get the most out of a holiday that might be a good time as it's a real pain in the bum.

We had a villa and could wash things thoroughly though so it wasn't exactly risky.

We have used the sterlising bags that you put in the microwave. If you do have the use of a microwave, they are really easy to use and only about £5 for three bags which you can re-use upto about 20 times if I remember rightly........

We had a cold water sterilising unit and we took it with us, packed with socks and all sorts inside it inside the suitcase, it was really easy to keep on the side in the hotel and we took Milton Sterilising tablets to use. Make sure that the tablets that you use are ones that you don't need to rinse off with boiling water as this can be a realy pain in the bum!

My children were all on the move/ at the grabbing stage by 9 months and were busy crawling around or popping things in their mouths lol. I stopped sterilising way before 9 months It was just straightforward washing up and rinsing with very hot water. You should do what suits you, but you might find that you won't need to sterilise by this age.

Have to agree with the previous post. By the time the baby is putting everything within reach into it's mouth, sterilizing becomes pretty pointless!!
I stopped at around 6-months with both of mine. Never had any ill-effects & saved a whole lot of hassle!! Just make sure you wash the bottles thoroughly, especially the teats.

Anoher vote for not needing to sterilise at that age. I actually stopped sterilising at 12 weeks. What I did do when dd was 7 months at WDW was boil the tap water for her bottles. I took a travel kettle. I'm sure you could also use it for sterilising a bottle and teat if you didn't like tablets. But failing that soap and water is really all you need and so much less hassle.

We had also stopped sterilising at around 6 months old. We took DD to the Dominican Republic at 10 months old and never had any trouble. We did use the kettle in our room to boil up water to clean her bottles though, as we didn't know what the quality of the local tap water was like.
