taking 3 month old

Yes, maybe we're crazy but it's our last vacation for a while so we're going w/in-laws, they're in a studio @ BWV & we're in 1BR & 3 month old.

Any suggestions for going with an infant, what not to try to do, etc? WIll all the rooms have a port a crib or should we just take ours.

Meeting friends from out of town w/3 yr old & they are WDW vets as they live in FL. We're somewhat vets but never with newborn so it will be a different world.

Take it slow and easy and you'll have a great time. Our DD was 7 months on her first trip. Our DS was 4 months last Oct when we went. Kids travel pretty easy at that age. Use the baby care centers in the parks - they are great. All rooms at BWV will have a pack and play in the closet.

Once we vacationed in WDW with our small kids we were forced to take it easy and we discovered a WDW we never knew. There was so much we never noticed because we used to be so busy going from one thing to the next before we had kids. We spend more time enjoying the resorts now as well.

You're not crazy! Our youngest was 5 months on her first Disney trip.

There should be a pack-and-play in the closet of the room that you can use. If not, just call and they will bring one.

You can do anything you want by taking advantage of the baby swap option. If your friends have a three year old, you could take turns staying with each other's child.

Just beware of the heat. Plan to do some inside activities to help keep the baby cool. See a show, take a break in a restaurant, or take advantage of the excellant child care centers at the parks.

We took DS this Feb. and he was 6 mos. He traveled great. Matter of fact, better than our 4 and 6 y.o.s. I agree about the baby centers. They are WONDERFUL! Just take it slow and enjoy the trip!

On thing I have learned going to the mouses house with infants. Is in case you need to take yourself or baby to the see a doctor. Don't run to the emergency clinic just out side the main gate. Their office visit is very expensive and so is the pharmacist. As the a castmember how to get to Celebration Hospital. They have a wonderful staff and they accept your health insurance. My DD was 5mo for her 1st trip. (she saw her 1st Christmas lights and tree in Disney) and my son was 7mo and sadly got very ill our 3rd day of a 10 day trip with roda virus. Spent bunches of money at the clinic ($300) for 3 trips and last place we were sent to Celebration Hospital took our copay of 30 dollars.

Just something to keep in mind.

My son was 4 months old when we took him to WDW for the first time. You'll definately take it slow, but you'll have a GREAT time. I'd definately recommend bringing your own pack 'n play. Since your baby will be so little, you'll want to use the bassinet, or higher setting. The pack 'n plays provided only have the lower height, which for an infant is a little low for my taste. Also, with the higher level you can also use it as a changing table!!!!

Relax!! You are not crazy--If someone tells you that you are, you can just tell them you know a couple that took their first trip to WDW with a 4 mo old . . . and a 22 mo old . . . and a 4 yr old . . . AND a 6 yr old!!! Not only were we rookies, we had our hands full with the kiddos, the diaper bag, the double stroller, etc., and know what? We had the best time!! We had people that didn't even speak English help us get our children off the bus one night b/c they all fell asleep , but it is one of the magical memories I love!! That trip was 6 years ago, & I'm happy to report that we've been back 3 more times and added another little boy to the mix to boot! Our next trip is in December, & I can't wait! Have a great time!!

yep...we took a ten month old to the new years eve 1999 in epcot cenetr and had a great time....we will be taking our "any minute now" baby, who will be 3 months old by the time we go....I am much more concerned with my 3 year old....infants travel really easy....just make sure you have all the proper B.S.E, also known as Baby Support Equipment, and you will be fine!!
