Thanks Kim. It's been a very long week, but lots of fun. Today was our big doctor appointment. I posted about it on the Snowbirds thread and on Facebook. I'll make a big post about it when I update (which will be next week sometime).

Thanks!

NEXT week! Noooo! post now! :worship:

I'd love to, but we have SO much to do this weekend. Plus, I'm recovering from the worst case of pink eye I've ever had. Not fun! I don't have to work at all next week, so I plan on updating on Monday (fingers crossed). Not too much longer!

Hey Meghan! I just noticed that you had a TR going (I know, I've been woefully behind on my Dis-ing). I so wish that we'd have been able to arrange a meet. The week goes by so quick, doesn't it! Congrats again on the baby news!!

Hi Rebecca! I've been behind on the DIS lately too. The week leading up to Christmas was very busy plus I had a 24 hour flu bug. Then, this week just flew by....I desperately need to catch up on everything!!!

Wish we could have met up while at WDW too. The week definately flew by...doesn't it always?

Thanks!!

Hello everyone! After this little life update, I will post a trip update. I promise!!! I don't have to work this week, so I hope to update a few times....but don't hold me to it.

We had a fantastic Christmas this year! Santa brought Madison quite a few Lego Star Wars sets, some movies (Toy Story 3, The Princess and the Frog and Despicable Me), clothes (of course)..the list goes on and on. Tony and I got her a new American Girl outfit and a little travel set for her doll (it has the cutest suitcase!!).

My FIL got me a Kindle and it is awesome! Tony got me a case and light for it too. It was definately my favorite gift this year. Tony also got me a body pillow and pillowcase (gotta have one of those) and some new VB!!!!! He got me the Little Betsy and the Turnlock Wallet in Twirly Birds Pink. SO CUTE!!! I'm sure he got me a few other things, but I don't remember right now.

I won't bore you with what I got Tony...mostly things he needed, a few movies, etc.

The day after Christmas we headed over to my parents house (again) to celebrate with our extended family from Syracuse. It was a very fun day, but I woke up with the worst sore throat. Not a lot of fun. The next evening, my little sister and I went to see "Black Swan".....AMAZING!!!!! I highly recommend it if you like thrillers. Anyways...the next few days were filled with relaxation and lots of Lego building. Wednesday evening I went to a World Junior Hockey game with Tony, my little sis and my BIL. It was fun, but very one-sided (Canada beat Norway 10-1).

Thursday was the big day....the day we would find out what we're having!!!! My appt was for 8am...rough. We were the first appt of the day, so we didn't have to wait long. After the sono tech took her usual measurements and such, it was time for the big announcement. She told us that we're having a boy! I was a bit shocked at first because I TOTALLY thought it was going to be another girl. I looked over at Tony and he had quite the smile on his face. Madison....not so much. After we left the sono room, she burst into tears. I knew that this would happen. We headed back to the waiting room and we tried to calm her down. Thank goodness she brought a book to read, so that took her mind off of things.

When I had woken up that morning, I noticed my right eye was a little gross. It was really goopey and I had no idea why. After my doctor appt, we came home and I had to head out again. I had to head to the dentist because part of my permanent retainer popped off. It didn't take long, so I headed to Babies R Us.....I just had to check out some crib bedding and such. I then went over to ON. I didn't plan on buying anything, but I managed to pick up a new pair of yoga pants, sweatpants and 2 tank tops.

Once again, I headed home but wasn't there for long. We decided to go to Applebee's for lunch (we had a gift card). Before we left, I took out my contacts because my eye was getting really bad. After our delicious lunch (complete with dessert), I had to meet my friend at a bridal shop. I'm in her wedding in August and she needed to pick out bridesmaid dresses (she lives in SC and was home for a few weeks). After a little while at the shop with her and her mom, the 2 other girls showed up (2 of my really good friends). She didn't see anything she liked there, so we went to another shop.

On my way to David's Bridal, I had to stop at my doctor's office again. Madison had left her winter hat there. Anyways....I met them at the shop and she managed to find a dress she loved. AND.....it was $20 off!!! Needless to say, we all ordered our dresses that day (and a sash and peek-a-boo slip). My eye had continued to get worse and one of my friends guessed it was pink eye. So, after the bridal shop, I headed to Immediate Care...no time for a dr appt. I didn't have to wait long to be seen and my friend was right....it was pink eye. The PA prescribed me some ointment (safer than eye drops for pregnant women) and I headed off to my grocery store where I get my prescriptions.

By this time, it was almost 5:30pm and I hadn't been home since 11:30am!!! I was miserable because of my eye and the pharmacy tech said it would be about a 30 min wait. So not cool, but I had no other choice. So I waited, and waited and waited. I went back up to the counter around 6:15pm (45 min later) and asked when mine would be ready. I was told they were just making some calls and such for the person ahead of me and I would be next. The woman ahead of me had checked on her stuff around 5:45pm....what was taking 30 minutes to check on? Anyways.....another 15 minutes went by and mine was finally ready. I was NOT happy and I asked why it took an hour to take a tube of ointment off the shelves. The pharmacy tech was not friendly and she said they got about 7 prescriptions at the same time. I still asked why I had to wait an hour for something that was just sitting on a shelf. The pharmacist then chimed in and said they had to go in the order received. I told her that was horrible use of time management, paid for my ointment and got out of there.

Sorry to rant about this, but I'm still mad about it. I understand they have to go in the order received, but while they took nearly 45 minutes to call on something for the woman ahead of me, they could have given me my ointment. I literally stood at the pharmacy window for that entire hour. They knew I was waiting there. AHHHHH!!! It makes me so mad.

So, we had a very quiet New Year's Eve as always. We started a tradition last year of a lobster dinner. They are always on sale the week of New Year's at my grocery store and they will steam them for free. Last year we got two lobsters because Madison had never tried it before. Well, she loved it, so this year we got three. It was delicious as usual. We just hung out the rest of the evening and Maddie went to bed around 10:30pm. Tony and I watched the NYC ball drop and went to bed.

So there you have it. You're all caught up on why I've been neglecting my TR lately. We put our Christmas decorations away on Saturday and we started moving things out of our office too. Our laptop desk (my work desk) is now in our living room! We have SO much stuff to still move out of there, but we also need to go through nearly every closest, plastic tote, etc in our house. Lots of organizing to be done!!!

I woke up at 6:30am and started getting ready. Tony and Maddie got up around 7am and Tony once again got us a bagel and chocolate muffin. We put our sunscreen on and headed out the door. We were at the Epcot bus stop at 7:55am. Not bad!

The ride to Epcot didn't take long and we were first at a turnstile!!! Woo hoo!!!

Just look at that sight

A nice family behind us took our picture...they were on the bus with us that morning!

Madison was given some pixie dust to throw at the end of the countdown. She was very excited! After we were officially in the park, we headed to the rope...once again, we were first!

It was a gorgeous morning!!!

We got to greet the Fab 5 that morning and pretty soon, we were following the CM's the The Land (we got pushed from the front pretty quickly). I grabbed FP's for Soarin' (9:41-10:41am) and he hoped in the standby line. It didn't take long at all and we sat front row, center section! After our ride, we noticed we could get anothe set of FP's in 15 minutes! So, we decided to ride Living with the Land (no wait). Here are a few pics:

After our lovely ride, I grabbed more FP's for Soarin' (10:51-11:51am). We stopped for quick bathroom break and decided we would start walking to the BC for our ADR. This was a little before 10am. Like I said, it was a beautiful morning and it was so much fun walking through an empty Canada and UK.

I WILL stay here someday!

Continuted in next post...too many pics!

The walk to the BC only took us about 15 from The Land. Not bad! We checked in at Cape May at 10:15am...we were early...but we were seated at 10:18am!

We'd be seeing Minnie, Goofy and Donald. Minnie came over a few minutes after we were seated.

202.jpg

Minnie looked adorable in her beach wear!

Donald wasn't far behind and he took Madison's autograph book before Minnie got to it! There was a little "argument" between them, but it turned out alright.

203.jpg

This was one of my Christmas card photos!

After they left, we went up to get food (oops, no pics!). When we were finishing up, Goofy had made his way over.

Donald came by again!

Breakfast was fantastic and I would eat here again for sure. It was the same breakfast options as Chef Mickey's but a more relaxed atmosphere. Plus, the characters had the best beach gear!

As we made our way back to Epcot, we noticed that Ariel and Prince Eric were out greeting! Ariel was absolutely gorgeous and oh so cute. They loved Madison's fish tank top.

After our wonderful meeting, I went to Test Track to get FP's for Tony and Madison (12:05-1:05pm return time). We then went back to The Land to ride Soarin'. (I didn't write down if we used FP's or not)

209.jpg

As we were waiting in line, they called for a party of 3...that was us! Woo hoo! Everyone started clapping for us and told us to enjoy our ride. How cute.

After another great ride on Soarin', we headed to the Seas to ride with Nemo (walked right on).

210.jpg

We then took some time to explore the aquariums...we had never done that before. We skipped Turtle Talk because it had a long line and Madison said she wanted to ride SE. It was another walk on!

211.jpg

After SE, Tony & Madison headed to TT to use their FP's (a little after 1pm). While they rode, I went back to Soarin' and got another set of FP's!!! On the way back to TT, I got to hear a little bit of the Jammitors. They show was cut short because it started to rain (just a sprinkle) and Tony had our ponchos!! So, I ducked into the little "tunnel" by the Character Spot and wrote in my journal. After I was all caught up, I went over to the TT shop to meet back up with my family.

After we met back up, we hit the Odessy bathrooms (there is never anyone over there) and we signed up for a KP mission. It was finally time to head into WS!

Up next...the rest of our Epcot afternoon/evening

Hi Meghan! Great updates!
So I guess Madison really wanted a baby sister hun? Poor sweety! She'll love her little bro. I'm sure she's already over it! She can be daddies little girl forever!! (unless you are having more!)

Seeing the great pics of sunny days from your trip is really picking up my spirits on this coudy cold day! Wish it were Sept again!! (or June/July/August!)

Happy New Year!

It sounds like you had a great holiday break. Sorry to hear about the pink eye though :( Ugh. I would've been mad at the pharmacist too!

Was Maddie really hoping for a little sister? I'm sure she'll be ok once she has time to get used to the idea.

Great pictures of Epcot! You HAVE to stay at BC one day! It's gorgeous, I absolutely loved it when I stayed there last year. The pool is awesome, the hotel is beautiful, and I loved being within walking distance of Epcot and DHS!

Oh yes. She really wanted a little sister. We now have to go through a ton of totes filled with clothes, books, games, etc and weed out all the little girl stuff. I don't think this little one will want to play Pretty Pretty Princess. And no, we're not having anymore. Two is enough for us! :goodvibes

The sunny pics are lifting my spirits too. I really should be running errands today, but it's so cold out!

Happy New Year!

Our break was good...except for this darn pink eye. It was pretty relaxing, but I wish we would have gotten more work done. We were so lazy yesterday when we could have been going through stuff. Oh well! There's always next weekend.

Madison wanted a little sister SO badly! We keep reminding her that she can teach her little brother all about Star Wars and video games (2 of her favorite things).

Thanks! The BC was so pretty and we only saw the lobby. Plus, we are huge Epcot fans (not so much DHS) and being able to walk to WS would be awesome!

Great updates Meghan!! You did a lot of stuff during your relaxing break! Again, congrats on the boy! I'm sure it will be an adjustment after all these years with a girl, but he's one lucky boy with your family!!

I LOVE Epcot too! Staying at the BC was the BEST!!!! I love that whole area!
I'm enjoying seeing you in your shorts - it warms me up. It's freezing here and I'm even cold in my office!!!

Congrats again on your little guy! I'm sure Madison will get excited once you start getting ready for his arrival. Let her help pick stuff out and I'm sure shopping will get her on board with having a little brother.

Great update! Where in Epcot did you find Ariel? I'd love to skip the expensive character meals next trip if we can meet the princesses at other places. ;)

Congratulations on expecting a boy!!!!!! That is so exciting!
That's too funny about Madison being upset at 1st, I'm sure she'll be excited about having a baby brother soon!
I loved your Christmas holiday update. Is your friend getting married in SC or NY?

Great Epcot day & great pictures of Madison. We missed Living with the Land & I was sad that I missed it.

Thanks Sheree! We did do quite a lot, but we were also quite lazy too. Madison is already done putting together all of her lego sets! We helped her with the first few, but she did the rest all alone. She did one set that had over 900 pieces all by herself!!! Quite impressive.

I've been looking at Babies R Us online and crib sets already and I like quite a few of them. I went to the store today, and they only carry one of them in the store. What a bummer! I really need to pick out a paint color soon (I'm very indecisive) because my dad said he'll paint for us next month. :goodvibes

Epcot is just so much fun. Even with 3 trips in 2 years, we've missed so much of WS. We explored a lot in Sept, but we didn't really go into the stores. :confused3 Next time!

Congrats again on your little guy! I'm sure Madison will get excited once you start getting ready for his arrival. Let her help pick stuff out and I'm sure shopping will get her on board with having a little brother.

Thanks Kim! We plan on taking Madison with us to make our baby registry, and I'm sure she'll enjoy that. She still says she's going to be a big help, so that's nice to hear.

Ariel and Prince Eric were by the International Gateway. As you cross the little bridge from the UK into France, there is a little path to the right. That's where they were. It was a pleasant surprise! Princess Aurora and Belle do meet and greets in France, Snow White does them in Germany (by her new wishing well) and I think Jasmine is sometimes with Aladdin in Morocco. We've also met some princesses in Toontown, but that will be gone soon. :sad1:
