Take Small Children By The Hand....a Sept Trip Report (Baby pics-Page 40)

great update! love your shirt and madispn's headband!:cutie:

I feel your pain on missing out on Space Mt! but looks like u enjoyed your more lisurely advance down main street...I am cross at myself for not taking in the sights and sounds more when we were there but it's just so easy to get caught up with the crowd rushing towards space!

Thank you!

I did kinda stink to miss out on my fav rides, but there is always next time! I am usually rushing towards something first thing in the morning, so it was great to just slow down for once.

Hi everyone! I hope to update again either today or tomorrow. I don't know about all of you, but I'm really looking forward to this week. I LOVE Thanksgiving...it's one of my favorite holidays. We watch the Macy's parade and make cinnamon rolls. It's a yearly tradition. This is also the first in quite awhile that Tony is not playing football. Then, my mom and I go shopping on Black Friday. We have so much fun and I get tons of my Christmas shopping done. Then, my 10 year HS reunion is Saturday! I cannot wait to see some old friends and catch up on what everyone has been up to since high school.

I don't think I posted this here, but I got my braces off last Thursday!!! It feels so good to be able to eat whatever I want again. My sister and I even went out for chicken wings last Friday. Boy, I've missed those! Anyways....I'm going back tomorrow to get my nighttime retainers and they are going to do a few little touch-ups. With these braces, they make sure all your teeth line up at the gum line (which mine now do). However, my front bottom teeth are a bit uneven at the top, so they are going to file those down for me. The one thing that stinks is I'm going to have to wait until the baby is born to get my teeth bleached. I wonder if those whitestrips are safe to use? I'll have to ask my doctor. Don't worry, I'll post before and after pics soon!

I'd love to hear about any fun plans that you have for this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend!

:woohoo: for getting your braces off!

I'm going to be everywhere on Thanksgiving. About 15 of us are having dinner at my mom's and then I'm going to Kris's parents (at the opposite end of the state. NJ may not seem big but I assure you, it takes awhile to drive through it!) for dessert.

We watch the parade every year too :) But I'm too afraid to brave Black Friday. Plus I have to work anyway.

Woohoo!! No more braces - must feel so good! Hope you and your family have a blessed happy Thanksgiving!

What a short amount of time you had to wear the braces! :) That is very cool. Cannot wait to see pictures Meghan.

Congrats on being braces free!!! That's gotta be a great experience! (Although that whole "teeth filing" thing does NOT sound pleasant)! I remember being in the ortho office as a child and watching them do that on someone...pretty sure I'm scarred for life! :rotfl:

Yay for the braces coming off!

WE are going to my aunts house. Skip's family has one at his Aunt's house as well, but at the same time, so I am skipping it, he may go later on though. I now don't go to much at his families. A few years ago I went to Thanksgiving at his cousins and then Claire and I were goingto go to my sisters afterwards. It's OK there (at his families), but not as fun, and Claire and I played a game at the table while we waited for Skip to go home. After awhile I went looking for him, only to find out he had left an hour beforehand with his brother to go home and take a nap. I was furious. We would've left gladly and headed to my sisters, but no we were stuck waiting for him...and he just left us. He doesn't even ask me to go to his families now after that episode.

Wow...that sounds like a lot of driving!

Black Friday is not that bad if you have a plan. We've never encountered rude, crazy people at all.

It feels amazing! I love being able to eat whatever I want again. Thank you..I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

I didn't have to wear them very long at all. I got them on at the beginning of August! They just move the front teeth around and don't mess with the back ones at all.

I've had my teeth filed before and it wasn't bad. I didn't even feel it!

I love having those braces off of my teeth. It feels so great.

Wow...that doesn't sound very pleasant. I'm glad that we only have one house to go to. When my MIL lived up here, we used to go to her house for dinner (she's not the best cook). We'd typically go to my parents house for dessert if they were home. My little sister used to Irish dance and the regional competition is held in Philly every year on Thanksgiving weekend. Then, she started playing field hockey and there used to be a travel tournament down in Florida around Thanksgiving. Needless to say, we didn't see my parents at Thanksgiving for quite a few years. It's so nice to have my mom's cooking again!

Just saw your last update now Meghan, what a great morning! I love that it was still dark when you got up! It still looked quite busy on Main St even though it was EMH.

So cool that you got your braces off already. Do you love your teeth now?

One year my DH played football on Thanksgiving with my friends from highschool. They are significantly younger than him and he guarded the fastest smallest guy so he was totally dead by the time he got home. He also bartends Thanksgiving eve so he was still tired from that. I put an end to football after that year! :rotfl:

Wow, what a trooper you are waking up so early! Seems like it was definitely worth it though because you guys got a lot done very quickly! :thumbsup2

Aren't the stepsisters such a hoot?! I loved interacting with them at 1900 PF!

I like seeing everyone's pictures over the walls in Fantasyland. With so many DIS friends going at different times we should be able to have a little timeline of progress going on

It was a fantastic morning! I always look forward to EMH at MK every trip. It did seem like there was a lot of people there, but there really wasn't. That was just everyone getting there at the exact same time. Even with only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland open, it still felt like there was no one there!

I LOVE my teeth! I feel normal again.

My DH played flag football with a bunch of guys from the bank for quite a few years....he was one of the younger ones! Every year, our church organizes a Turkey Bowl and they always do old vs young. Last year was the first time the younger guys won!!! (Tony was one of the "old" guys) A ton of guys show up to play, so you don't get a lot of playing time. That's why he's not doing it this year.

I cannot sleep late at Disney. I'm always awake and out of bed the second my alarm goes off!

The step sisters was so funny! I had fun watching them interact with the families ahead of us too.

It's so much fun seeing the "over the wall" pics. It's so exciting!

Hooray for getting your braces off! :cheer2:

Hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow, and happy shopping on Friday!

We decided to walk over to the Contemporary and we were on our way around 10am. I was texting Kristen the whole time letting her know our progress. I was making my family speed walk so we wouldn't keep them waiting, but they weren't having it. It was really hot!

Once we entered the CR, we took the elevator to the 4th floor, rounded a corner and there was Kristen! We chatted for awhile and got to meet all of the kiddos....all 6 of them! (they were traveling with another family) We took a few pics:

Some of the kids....Madison and Hailey (Kristen's friend's daughter) were like long lost best friends! They even traded some pins!

After chatting for awhile, I realized it was time for us to check in at CM's. We said goodbye and planned to meet up again soon. So, we went and checked in at CM's around 10:30am. We were SO hungry! We got in line for our family picture and then had a seat. Lucky for us, we only had to wait a few minutes because our pager went off at 10:45am.

Some artwork near our table

We were able to eat most of our food before any of the characters came around.

115.jpg

My first plate..I loved those cheesy potatoes!

116.jpg

Madison and her food...this breakfast began a cute little trend with Madison. She called the breakfast pizza morning pizza! It was adorable and it was almost the title of my TR! Don't let me forget how the title of my TR came to be. Another funny story!

Tony's first plate

Mickey came by first followed by Minnie and Donald.

We had a little break before Goofy & Pluto came around, so Tony & I got some more food.

122.jpg

Told you I loved those potatoes!

During the napkin waving, our waitress brought over some cupcakes!

Yes, Pluto's whiskars are covering part of my face.

After we saw all of the characters, it was around 11:30am. My family decided they wanted to take the monorail back to the MK which ended up being a huge mistake. It took FOREVER! I think we stopped in between each hotel which was completely annoying. I hate just sitting there on the tracks waiting to move. After we got off the monorail and made our way to the bus stop, we had to wait a little bit for a bus. One came around 12:30pm (told you the monorail ride took forever). It was time to go back to Pop for a rest and a swim!

We got back to Pop before 1pm and we noticed 2 towel animals in our window! We NEVER got any towel animals before! Also, Madison's stuffed animals were arranged quite nicely on the bed.

128.jpg

We all quickly got our bathing suits on and headed down to the bowling pin pool. Of course, I had to take some pics!

This was the building across from us. See all those open doors? They were working on those rooms (3rd floor). By the end of the week, they were done with that floor and started working on the 2nd floor. I wonder if all of the rooms are refurbed now?

131.jpg

Can you see our window by the girl's hand?

I went back to our room around 1:50pm to get ready for the night. Not too long after, Tony and Madison made their way up as well. Once we were all ready to go, we headed out the door around 2:20pm. We were off to DHS!

I love DIS meets :)

Chef Mickey's is so much fun! It was my first trip there this past trip. Loved the food too! Looks like you guys did as well :)

They were working on the first floor rooms when we were at Pop and that was only a couple weeks after you guys came back. They've gotta all be done by now!

Yay for getting your braces off! You must have been thrilled that it was such a quick process. Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving with your family! One of my best friends from high school also Irish danced and always went to the tournament in Philly! Her family didn't have a real Thanksgiving until after we graduated college.
We love that monorail, but it's definitely fast to walk to/from the Contemporary! Sounds like you guys had a great brunch + enjoyed your pool time!

Great update Meghan! Your food looks really good to me this morning. Some have said Chef Mickey's is really loud. Would you agree? It looks like so much fun though!

I love the "morning pizza" story. That is adorable. Sorry the monorail ride took so long though, bummer.

Have a super Happy Thanksgiving!!

Great update! :cool1: I just love Chef Mickey's, it's always a good time. We skipped it this time for the first time in several years. So I am definitely ready to go back next time!

The monorail always seems to have to stop and 'wait for clearance' while we are on it. It sure is annoying!

Can't wait to hear about your evening at DHS!

I love DIS meets too! It was as if Kristen and I had known each other forever.

We adore Chef Mickey's! It's so much fun and I love the breakfast there.

I'm sure it's all done by now. As you can see from my photos, I think that jukebox needs a fresh coat of paint. It's quite faded!

I'm very happy it was such a quick process. Ah yes. Most Irish dancing families don't have a normal Thanksgiving for many, many years. Madison wanted to audition for one of the teams, but I said no. I'm not ready to give up my Thanksgiving and Black Friday!

I love the monorail too, but the walk from the CR to the Pop bus stop would have taken much less time.

Brunch was fantastic and Madison is such a little fish. She never wants to get out of the pool!

Thank you! I was pretty hungry looking at my pics this morning too. I miss those Mickey waffles! It is a bit loud, but it doesn't bother us.

She called it morning pizza for the rest of the trip! So cute. I thought we were never going to make it the MK stop that morning. It was so annoying.

Thanks! You too!

Thanks! CM's is always great. We've only done breakfast there. We're not real keen on dinner buffets.

I don't think I've ever been on the monorail that long in my life. AND, they blasted the air conditioning the whole time we were there. So not only did it take forever, we were freezing too!

Great update and hooray for a DIS meet!!

I had to giggle at the pic of Madison's stuffed animals on the bed. My kids pack just about every stuffed animal we own when we go somewhere!
