:sunny: Hi we are going to be there Dec1-10th I have made about 7 ADRS already for varius times and dates. We are travelling with our 2 1/2 yr old son and sometimes he is too tired to sit through a complete dinner with us. Do you think as there are some special places for dinner and desert we would like, could you go to the podium or call ahead and order the meals and desserts take out to enjoy back at our room with our cranky/sleepy toddler? We do this a lot at home as it saves aggrevation for all concerned, but can you do this at Disney? This year we are off property as well so no room service available to us. Just thought I would ask before we get there. Thank you for your help :) Conor's Mom

I have done this at a few places.

1. Beaches & Cream.
2. Brown Derby (though it was just an appetizer and grapefruit cake)
3. Whispering Canyon.

I would say that Hotels would be more likely to accomodate you, than park places, but to be honest, in my opinion, much of the "out of park" food is better tasting, but it is worth it to eat "in park" for the experiences that each place can give.

If you are off site, it is likely that your food will be cold by the time that you get back, unless you are in the Downtown Disney areas.

If that is the case, you will have a plethora of great places that you can get takeout from!

-What resort/hotel are you staying at?

Maybe a local can tell you a great place near your "home base".

:) hi Tinagirl, Thanks for answering so quickly! You have set my mind at ease. My son enjoys the character meals so we have adrs for Donalds Restarauntsaurus breakfast and the crystal palace lunch. I have also made lunch and dinner ars for Rose& crown/Lecellier/chefs of France and Fultons on different days. I have the Grand floridian cafe for lunch as it was the only thing available and we wanted to get a special GFbakery cake to celebrate DH's B-day and our anniversary and that is the only way to get a cake from there now. Last year we stayed at the Poly concierge for thanksgiving it was heaven, we had the dining plan and we gained at least 10lbs! My son had a horrid ear infection and ended up realy cranky for a lot of our dinners poor baby! My husband caught a stomach virus(it swept through our Hawai bldg, we spoke with a few familes who the poor things spent most of their vacation in their rooms ill) we had Californiagrill PS that night I had to cancel it and I ended up with the cardboard pizza in my room! We are staying at the Hilton Grand Vacation on I-drive, it looks nice. We bought into a 30 year time share with Hilton in NewYork last year and have to stay Hilton properties or RCI properties. However my husband said we will repeat our Poly vacation again in the future :) Can you tell how excited I am to be going back? The little guy should love it even more this year. Thanks for your help, take care Conor's Mom :goodvibes

I've gotten "take out" from Jiko and Spoodles by calling ahead for it. I've got their numbers on speed dial on my cell phone LOL!
