This weeks show there was mention of getting sushi as take out at Epcot.

Is take out avaible from any of the restaurants throughout Disney World?

That would be great if the parks are REALLY busy and you can't get into a restaurant just to pick up lunch or dinner and take it back to your room.

Unfortunately, no. Kona sushi bar is more the exception than the rule. The sushi bar does not take ADRs, just first come, first served. So there is room for some allowances.

The restaurants that take ADRs are not set up to accommodate take out orders. If a cast member goes above and beyond for you and does allow you to order something to go, I'd be surprised. I have heard of someone getting a cup of the cheddar cheese soup in Canada to go, but I wouldn't expect to be able to do that during a free dining period.

The only other exception I could think of would be if you were ordering food in a bar. You might be able to get food to go from there. But then again, that would be at the discretion of the restaurant and I would not guarantee it.

DH and I were able to get desert (Chocolate Ginger Cake from Teppan Edo/Tokyo Restaurant) to go. They said they normally don't do it, but my DH flattered the chef (I am in love with this cake). Sadly, they would give him the recipe. So it is possible, but I wouldn't get my hopes up way too much...but it never hurts to ask.

Also, we still tipped the lady who brought our cake.

Normally the only way you can get something to go from a menu-service restaurant is to be seated and order your food. Once it is delivered to your table you can then ask to have it boxed up.

Just a small note....

The Kona Sushi Bar is located upstairs in the Polynesian Resort. It's adjacent to the Kona Cafe and during the day, it's the Kona Coffee Bar.

One of the reasons for mentioning that they offer "to go" is that it's the exception and not the rule.

Hope that helps.:)

I have heard several reports that the Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake can be obtained "to go" at HBD. But the take out menu is limited to these items only. Of course YMMV.
