Take a look at my plans & answer me a couple Qs

I let bad reviews keep me away from Coral Reef until my BFF booked it in March. It was the best meal of the trip! They still had the spotting guides on the tables then. I had the steak, and it was cooked exactly as I requested. And they had no problem switching out sides. I don't eat any seafood at all, and generally avoid restaurants because of the fishy smell, but I did not notice it here at all.

I am not a Chef Mickey's fan. If you want to see those characters, I would stick with dinner at Hollywood and Vine. We did the Minnie's holiday dine last November and enjoyed it a lot.

I'm from Nova Scotia... I'm sad that you live in Maine and don't like seafood Lol! We went to Coral Reef and the kids really enjoyed it. Sitting by the glass is nice but there are booths one level up that also have wonderful views. Our meals there were not memorable but the atmosphere made up for it. I would go to experience it... not every day you dine in an aquarium. The kids will think it is cool.

I would pick Tusker House for an early lunch. It is my son's favourite. If you pick it for breakfast that would be your 4th breakfast and there is only so many ways to dress up breakfast. The lunch buffet has some interesting selections that you may enjoy, something for everyone, and the characters are here for the children. We really did not enjoy CM last time. The food was just awful. I would enjoy the characters here instead of CM. However, I would definitely make a point of riding the monorail if you decide to forego CM. Skipper's Canteen seems like a better choice to me... but if the kids are fussy... well just peek at the menu. You could try for an Ohana dinner? Ride the monorail from the MK?

We all like Crystal Palace breakfast... it is my daughters favourite. The Pooh characters are so cute. The princess interaction is great at Askershus. My daughter had the basic package at the BBB during our princess trip and loved her princess bun... just something to consider :) They made a big fuss over my son, which he liked, but would not admit. We have not been to H&V.

We are going to Sanaa this year and I am really looking forward to it. Also, I have booked a BOG lunch because I was too afraid Disney would mess with the hours and then my PPO breakfast would be useless.

On departure day, my kids just want to eat at the resort and enjoy a last dip in the pool and I think rushing around might make for a cranky end to a wonderful vacation.

I have changed my ressies a thousand times :sad2:... you are not alone Lol

Have a great vacation!

Good to hear about your son at Akershus. Mine is 7 and every time I mention eating with princesses he pouts.

I was thinking the same about departure. I don't want to add to an already long day of travel at the end of a long week.

Yay! The kids will love Coral Reef, so good to hear we'll eat well too.

I'd have breakfast at Tusker House. With your 10:30 ADR you'd be able to eat off the lunch buffet too, and both meals are really good.

I've always liked Chef Mickey's, but Skipper's Canteen sounds awesome, and it sounds like you'd rather eat there, so that's where I'd go.

I've been to Coral Reef three times in the past, the first two were good, the last time was excellent! I would keep that ADR.

Pretty sure I replied to part of your message before, but it was on my phone and it was driving me crazy. As for breakfast... I hear you. But we love eating out for breakfast, plus any 10:30s are basically lunch for us and should give us the option of both breakfast and lunch items. :) It also gives us the option to leave the park whenever the kids have had enough.

IMHO there are too many character buffets on this plan. After a few of these so so meals i think you are going to be over it. Pick two and move on otherwise you will feel like you in that Groundhog movie as you are eating the same food over and over and over and over.. LOL!

Do your kids like spending hours at meals every day? If not I would go with the every other day plan for these sit down dinners and buffets. our kids were more about being "in the parks" then "in the restaurants"

Honestly, part of it is that *I'm* going to need the downtime. :p And the character meals are DOWN from my original plan - I had planned on ALL our TS meals being character meals.

Thanks! I think everyone here has convinced me to take the earlier Tusker House. Original thought was that dinner would give us a River of Lights package, but not holding my breath for it to be running.

As for Skipper Canteen, I showed the kids the Monkey Bites and Chocolate Volcano desserts and convinced them to give it a go. :)
